What's the Lauren/Yanny one? I haven't heard about it. But omg the dress thing from a long time ago got so exhausting :joker:

"Yammy" :joker:

Niamh. 18-05-2018 01:51 PM

I can only get that other one to say Brain Needle now no matter how much I think Brain Storm

That sounds like Laurel and Yearly.

It sounds like "Yanny" in an American accent or "Yearly" in an RP English accent.

It actually sounds like the "talking clock" guy you used to be able to call on a landline :joker:. Does that still exist?

JerseyWins 18-05-2018 01:56 PM

This actually creeps me out. That clip sounds EXACTLY like "Yammy" I'm wondering how people would hear anything other than the "y" sounds at the beginning and end of the word. Although it's definitely not even "Yanny" for me either, I hear an "m" sound for sure not an "n" :joker:

i genuinely hear Laurel and Yanny and dont understand what its about

That's what I was thinking yesterday when I listened to it in work, then I went home to play it for my kids and all I could hear was Laurel in a really low voice, kind of like Rick saying Carl from The walking dead  I couldn't believe it, it was weird

:joker: I tried it without headphones and I still only hear yammy. I just gave it a listen on my cell phone too and yeah it's always yammy for me

I don't know, maybe it was because it was later in the day and I was tired or something so my hearing was worse then? Apparently hearing Yanny means you have better hearing

Try concentrating on the 'deeper' sounding part of the clip, 'laurel' is said in a lower voice than the much higher 'yanny/yammy'

DrunkerThanMoses 18-05-2018 04:52 PM

Laurel and brainstorm as clear as day. No idea how people hear yanny or green needle

Lmao literally the opposite for me :skull:

Well I just listened again after a long wait and my conclusion is Brain Needle & Yammy

Calderyon 18-05-2018 04:56 PM

Laurel obviously.

Calderyon 18-05-2018 05:05 PM

The other one: I can hear both Brainstorm and Green needle.

Calderyon 18-05-2018 05:06 PM

How anyone can hear Yanny is odd.

Shaun 18-05-2018 05:32 PM

I think I need therapy because the hatred I feel whenever I see this on social media is palpable. Gives me that ****ing blue dress flashbacks.
