supertv said it was loud in the crowd, maybe it just didn't come across on the screen?

Also the crowd is small anyway but cars took out some of the audience space.

Not a good opening night...

I sort of felt that way, that the beginning was much better than how it felt more towards the end.. but I think only because it was still new, the changes in productions, the set, the atmosphere, the smaller changes in nuance... and so it had lost that surprise factor once the usual CBB folk came in... they did seem to lose steam really quickly, even the crowd... but I think if I had been a crowd member waiting all day there based on hype and one of the expected cast members didn't show, then that would lead to a buzzkill pretty quickly...

I thought that kirsty was told to ask each housemate about themselves to help make up the viewers mind when it came to the vote later in the show but none of that was shown. Emma mentioned she was asking questions but then it was never talked about again after that?

Yeah the twist failed but will be shown on tomorrow nights highlight show.

I was in the crowd today, and it clearly came across so flat because of how tiny it was. Half the crowd was gone for the cars to drive in, then a lot of it was press, then a whole half was friends and family who only cheered their own ones. Then you’re left with such a small portion of actual fans in the audience - hence why they weren’t very loud!

Hopefully it’ll be much better for evictions now

Yeah I noticed the huge gaps where the audience used to be especially from the drone like shots and it didn't feel like a launch it was literally a handful of fans.

Shame.

Mess it was my favourite launch in years :worry:

And that's good  We all came into launch with different expectations I think so that can color things a bit. It wasn't bad or anything in my case, but did feel odd, the pacing of the shots and the production felt a little blendy at various points. It did make the family/friend interviews feel like it dragged on more than really did... I think I won't overthink it at this point and just watch the show...

Cherie 17-08-2018 06:14 AM

I found it a bit dragged out, we really didn't need the family/friends interviews, just get them in... No Marcus voice overs :omgno:

Crimson Dynamo 17-08-2018 06:42 AM

when they get to the dances it will liven up

Eddie. 17-08-2018 06:58 AM

Though the house tour/car entry/Emma reading out the facts/no Marcus were HUGE improvements IMHO. The crowd was probably the most dead at a BB launch EVER.

It makes the BB10 launch night have atmosphere...

Patrick 17-08-2018 03:46 PM

I was embarrassed to be watching it to be honest. Just felt like such a non-event. Crowd couldn’t care less.

If I hadn’t recorded it, I’d of switched off. Literally fast forward the interviews and the VTs of the nobodies. What was meant to be a return to form, fell flat on it’s face. Such a shame.

I never expect much drama until then...

I think you missed the point. Nobody was expecting fireworks and drama but as launch nights go, this was diabolical. No life to it what so ever.

I always find the launch night boring. It's so slow and there's a lot of filler.

I went to bed before the programme had finished.

Don't think I missed anything.

It was all going so good with the house tour as well

Yep! The start of it was fantastic with the tour and the opening line instead of Bentley screaming over a VT.
