Come at me, bro!

But all of that is besides the point when I was responding to the fact that Josy thinks everybody else's contribution could use some work. Pot and kettle spring to mind.

I think the point she was making is that if members started creating threads on topics outside the norm/usual on TIBB, it could draw in more members to participate and in turn spark more discussion keeping new members around longer. If people make more of an effort it might liven up the forum.

Eh thanks for telling everyone including ME what I think from my post?

I was answering the thread question, I think more interesting threads could be a huge benefit to the forum, that wasnt casting aspersions on current contributions or saying there isnt any interesting threads atm just that more could help, I would personally take part more often if there was more posted (pretty obvious that most would)

But hey continue with that negative and hostile attitude towards my comments.

Pot meet kettle?

I simply pointed out the shady nature of your comment, as did someone else.

Deny it all you want, but it was.

Well, I responded to a tongue in cheek shady comment with a tongue in cheek shady comment.

But, yes that's me being hostile and negative.

By its nature your comment was negative, the forum has no interesting content apparently.

Twisting what was said again...

Anyway I've posted my opinion on the thread subject...

Do you actually have an opinion on the thread topic Marsh or are you just here to cause conflict?

Conflict? We're having a discussion?

MMI chose to respond to my posts, as did you.

I haven't twisted anything. Your post was negative, something I pointed out since you labelled what I had to say negative.

Our discussion is on topic. :umm2:

Matthew. 19-08-2018 10:05 PM

well i’m always starting interesting conversations, such as this thread and this thread!

nobody can accuse me of starting pointless discussions!

So basically rather than have your own opinion you want to just spread negativity about other peoples?

I'm responding to your post?

It's called a discussion. Try it.

In the discussion, I've provided my opinion. But you've ignored it in favour of telling me I'm off topic. Get it together, Josy. The topic is about the forum, we're discussing the forum.

Discussions calls for opinions not just rubbishing other peoples without actually contributing any of your own.

Edit. Nice edit there Marsh again saying a lot yet still not contributing an opinion.

Anyway i've posted my opinion on actual topic of the thread....carry on.

I haven't rubbished the opinion?

The forum having interesting content is obviously integral.

I responded to a shady tongue in cheek comment about the state of the forum with a shady tongue in cheek comment about the state of the forum and then got held to ransom about the number of threads I've made by MMI? :joker:

Matthew. 19-08-2018 10:13 PM

off topic but who’s MMI

Glenn. 19-08-2018 10:15 PM

A mess

"Nice edit" Another sly comment. I edited my post after posting it, before you replied. It happens.

Not contributing an opinion? What? That I think your sly dig at everyone else was uncalled for and maybe your contribution to the forum (which is of far greater impact as an admin) could be looked at too?

But that's gets disregarded as off topic or negative.... but you can be negative... or something... whatever... ooh and now must not edit posts, I'll have to remember that one.

...obviously thread making is important../..it’s an essential but it’s also that the topics have to engage people to post as well so the amount of threads made by one member can become irrelevant... also if that member contributes much in many sections etc but doesn’t make the actual threads, then their contribution is equally of value..it is quite hard I think to think of a topic which will engage, which isn’t news related also...and which doesn’t feel ‘samey’ either to many other threads where a story could just be added to an already made thread...during off season I think there are a lot of click baitey type threads ...like, oh have we discussed Muslims today or ethnic minority races in general...or what about the LGBT community, was that done today or Trump, he’s always worth a daily mention or Jeremy Corbyn..etc, etc...it feels so it’s same old, same old ...but then those threads do attract much posting as well and much activity it has to be said ...but they don’t really give variety for expansion very much as how could they when it’s similar topics and more or less the same forum members on any given day...with just the occasional newbie..?...and they could go either way as well with newbies or potential newbies...they could attract interest or they could deter it..?...it’s all really down to what admin want for the forum as well, their choices...and also who the forum browsers are or what their search engine is...

...so far as other sections go..?...chat and games seems to tick over reasonably well in consideration of less active members than back in the day and the chat threads in the private section seem to tick along as well with many members enjoying chat together...general chat is as it ever was, I think and some good topics which aren’t quite ‘serious’ as such but the expansion of the threads can become deeper as well, so a good section I think...music section, always lovely....with on season and BB..?...it’s just generally less busy than it used to be because BB doesn’t have the same size fan base as back in the day..BB was THE reality TV show at one time but it isn’t anymore...it’s just another reality show trying to hold its own in a large crowd and hanging on the edge at times I think.....shows like Love Island and Drag Race and so many more are more the now and the future so sections for all are really important to ‘flow with the times’, you know and to keep the forum going in its unique selling factor of reality tv...and many do attract members from overseas as well which is lovely...

...so far as new members go and attracting them in..?...well we’ve built it, a fairly good and individual forum on the whole so hopefully they’ll come...without us having to seduce them as TS said...because that can be a bit dodgy, that old seduction thing...

Ammi 20-08-2018 06:50 AM

...my posts always come out bigger than they seem to be when I’m typing them..probably turning away all of those new members tbh...
