Also last night she first said 'you're too brown', then tried to backtrack in front of everyone that she said to everyone they need talc powder, she didn't. She was patronising him and sneakily antagonising Hardeep by saying 'that thing on your head', regardless of whether or not she knew what it was (she more than likely did know it was a turban for **** sake), she will have known it is important to Hardeep and wouldn't want to use it in some game as a bandage.

Disgusting behaviour from Sally and as everyone knows I am NOT a fan of Hardeep.

Have you got 2 personalities?? you just supported her two posts before this?

Can you please not make large posts that have so many capitals in..I am sure I have said this before. There is really no need. Odd word is fine, but not whole paragraphs

However I agree that if thats what Sally said its questionable to say the least and yes, she should have more self awareness.

You people need to take a chill pill.

Ryan was right.

For being a supposed comedian, Hardeep cannot take any jokes. He is so sensitive it's crazy.

And if she is denying saying it and demanding it be replayed then she must think that it was racist...cauae she wants to clear her name.

Yes he remembers when he was younger,
before he became a Ch5 TV Producer
in the early days of the channel.

Well no, he repeated what she had said and she said "I didn't say that" but she did and replaying it would prove that, whether it was racist or not is obviously up for debate
Eta yeah sorry I agree with your post, I misread it

I don't like Sally. I think she has come across as particularly nasty in regard Hardeep throught the show and some of her remarks to him and about his body hair have been really unpleasant. And yet the fuss because he mentioned her bunion. A couple of times I've thought she deserved a warning. They should have played back what she said. Hardeep was exactly right in his interpretation.

The way I see it, he made sure the word "brown" would remain in the forefront of HM's minds in-between discussions. Probably because he wanted a confrontation. Whether it ended up about race or not, it didn't matter, as the main reasoning was to simply get under other HM's skins and trigger reactions so that he could use those as camera-time opportunities to throw in his 2 cents... whatever that was depended on the day and the conversation... Yes, it takes two to tango, but he frequently embraced conflict. Probably to keep himself interesting to the public and also insert himself as deep as possible into house events... it's worked, because the cameras have kept on him consistently and he's remain at the forefront of discussion in the house... all this was intentional.

Sally, similarly, feigned ignorance in re-using the brown word with him when everyone there is well-aware it's been used as a loaded word by Hardeep. So for her to pick it up and use it against him was no coincidence. She intentionally meant to push his buttons, and maybe she didn't quite expect the blowback she received (hence her over-reaction), but she was no innocent party in that conversation either. We know they don't get along and she's been known for her own version of backbiting. She's also very good at stealth trolling other HMs while letting her peers do all the actual work of dismantling their position in the house. Which is the more calculating of the two? It's hard to say as they are so similar actually...

What's also true is that Hardeep had been setting the stage for a row on racial stereotypes from the very beginning. His enemy, the sole opponent in an eviction, is braven enough to use loaded words and dialogue that are clearly meant to goad and create certain conflict. Similarly, like their other confrontations of recent with Hardeep, they were not really reacting to the race issue or the focus of the debate itself, but rather, they were reacting to his particular penchant for racially-charged debate and for rushing away after being engaged in confrontation.

We could say the house fell for two different traps, but as I saw it, they cancelled each other given they both have a penchant to troll and insert backbiting commentary at will... Hardeep should be panned for his cashing in on the race debate and trivializing it, and Sally for her stealthy handling of house politics when it's clear she's not an innocent player either.

I actually think as far as strategy and personality goes, they are both very very similar. Which would explain why both dislike each other so much...... They get on each other's nerves because both know well the game the kind of game they are both playing, so they see a little bit of themselves in the other and so they get under each other's skins easier than the rest.

For example, during Hardeep's discussion with Natalie when she criticized him on his insensitive usage of racial jocularity, he took the "How dare you challenge me" route that Sally took during this debate. Suggesting because he was a comedian and freedom of speech, he had meant no harm and thus freedom of speech, he was allowed to speak as he pleased...

I can't really comment on the turban party, because I know next to knowing about Sikh religion. For some reason, I had thought maybe it was in a similar category to Buddhism and I wouldn't consider them (Buddhist) to be really strict on dress, much less a great deal of other things...

Seeing that Sikhs have lived in the UK for the past 100+ years, and it's common knowledge that their male headgear is called a turban, it beggars belief that Sally wasn't aware of that, unless she's been living under a stone since birth (probably).

That pretence alone is enough proof for me that she's a rascist bigot, who jumped at the opportunity to wind up an already beleaguered Hardeep.

Regardless of whether she knew the name for it or not, suggesting to use his religious item as bandaging for a burns victim doesn’t sit well with me

That's what I was trying to get across, but you said it better than me :hee:

I don't particularly like religion but I live in the UK and know on sight Hardeep is a Sikh because he was wearing a turbon when he entered the house. I also know hes from Scotland because he wears a kilt and that Sikhs don't cut their hair and this, and the turbon have religious significance. So the elephant in the room really is why doesn't Sally know all this? She grew up in the same country as me. I think her dislike made her taunt him over things she knew perfectly well we're significant to him.

Clootie Dumpling 10-09-2018 10:07 AM

Point of interest - I just found out that Scottish Sikhs have their own tartan, but Hardeep wasn't wearing it. I liked his black kilt and was pleased he wore the right jacket.

Handy modding tool Vickles;

https://www.textfixer.com/tools/capi...-sentences.php

Just click on "capitalise sentences" and check the "Correct Accidental Caps Lock" box, paste in the post and it'll fix it all up.
