To be fair, has he ever said that his family don't know? He's been droning on about "certain people" not knowing so it's possible that he IS already out to his family (or at least immediate family) but other people such as friends / extended family don't know.

Surely in this day and age, his school friends, at least, won't care?

It does seem kind of put on TBH and I imagine he told all of the "important people" before he went in, specifically planning to announce to everyone else whilst in there.

From what I've seen, I'm not buying Cameron's coming out story.

I don't buy someone coming out on national tv before telling his own family
I suspect his family already knows.

This could be his game-plan to have a 'journey' and come out on national tv and get the sympathy vote

Firstly, he can think it would be shown, however he has no idea that BB will be showing his conversations as to it.
Especially with Lewis G so loud in the house and I'd bet most think highlights of only an hours duration will be eaten up by Lewis Gs antics.

He's found in Lewis F a confidante of sorts.
If he wants to confirm he is gay, if that is what it is, maybe he feels more comfortable in the house away from the outside world, mixing with a more varied set of people who seem very open on things.

Still however for some, saying the word or confirming a sexuality preference, can remain hard to do.
Perhaps had Lewis F asked him outright if that was what he was trying to say, adding he'd be st his side when and if he wanted to confirm it.
Then Cameron may have jumped at that.

He's just looking for the easiest way for him to reveal or say something eating away at him.
Support not judgement, ridicule or condemnation is what he needs at this time

That's a possibility too Joey; he knows that he's basically coming out by making not-so-subtle allusions to it so is sort of "gently" telling everyone. It can be hard for some people to say the "actual words" even when they know they've basically already said it.

smudgie 26-09-2018 08:57 AM

He has nothing else to offer other than this storyline, and he is stretching it out.

That's my take on him, too, Smudgie.

Exactly TS.
The saying of the word with the full confirmation it brings can still be for many, the hardest part of the whole process.
You are spot on.

So by doing this is he mocking gay young men and the struggles they go through?

what kind of self-loathing reverse homophobia do we have here?

Jack_ 26-09-2018 01:58 PM

I am actually, it's another storyline we've never had before...18 years on and we can have a false assault accusation and a coming out story in the space of a month!

I have no reason to doubt him but if it is a gameplan then fair play, it's win win either way for me

If it IS a gameplan then it's the best I've ever seen in BB because I'm completely sold by it, but I really really don't think it is. People are very good at attaching cynicism to Big Brother and forgetting that everybody's story is completely different and that being in that house is very different to life on the outside.

I totally agree, I always think the same when people chastise every showmance going for being fake, as if there's no possibility that two people could just happen to like each other after spending 24 hours a day in their company :joker:

I don't think it's a gameplan at all, my point was more 'if it is, who cares?' cause it'd be bloody brilliant one at that

Craig couldn't even admit he was in his interview and spent the entire time being beyond creepy to Anthony. It's not exactly the same thing.

Withano 26-09-2018 03:09 PM

Think its interesting. I bet he brought up in the casting process that its something he would like to do. I dont think its fake, if i did i would be bored of it yeh, but it seems genuine.

He didn't exactly come out and say it but he went on a very similar journey. Also Kemal that same year did come out on the show.

I never said it was exactly the same. Just drawing on similar stories from the past, while Craig didn't come out he still had a similar story and them trying to talk about it discreetly is also similar.

y.winter 27-09-2018 07:45 PM

Wait... Craig wasn't out?
This is honestly a revelation to me.
I've watched it 6 years ago so I don't remember if it came up - but I thought it was pretty obvious that he is. He could hardly hide his feels to Anthony, let alone his "gay" persona.

I think Cameron feels he is Gay but whether he has done the deed is debatable.

It could be the reason behind his confusion.

Vicky. 28-09-2018 12:49 AM

I don't remember this Craig thing either...I thought he was openly gay. Pretty much all I remember of him is when he got anthony really pissed and tried to take advantage. And him doing some task where hes pregnant. And 'I DO IT IN A JOKING WAY!!!!'
