Nothing wrong with getting back to your hotel room at the end of the night and putting on a quick film before you sleep..

The article is only talking about UK Netflix accounts working in the EU, not Netflix being banned in the UK - anyone who believes the latter is possible needs to loosen their crash helmet.

When I used to take trips out of town, we only had antenna. I thought it would be horrendous, but it was nice actually. It forced me to interact more with my surroundings. This was before streaming though. Youtube is also another option which I use to watch quite a lot actually...

I don't think Netflix US accounts work outside here so that wouldn't be unusual. Our media has always been locked down. Our DVDs only work in the US & Canada... Mexico and everything south of us is in under another region code... versus Europe which share y'all same region for the most part I think? We'd have to carry a compatible laptop/player to watch them abroad... Canada makes sense though to share the region code with... we share similar media/publications and the price is in US/CAN. Most can usually change the region code on your PC CD-ROM a certain number of times... I debated buying another drive, doing that and importing media... but it's so expensive to buy import... -_-

I hope the baby boomers are happy

Considering how much I love the EU, I don't tend to contribute to its economy by going on holiday to it :joker:

Most of the time I frequent Turkey, the Caribbean or Middle East :conf::joker:

I can understand not wanting Brexit, but actively loving the EU is a bit odd. What is it you love about it?

Why do you love Britain?

I feel more attached to the idea of Europe as a whole. I actually advocate a federal Europe but that's for another day. The EU does have its shortfalls and problems which I admit need straightening out

HOWEVER, Yorkshire comes above everything. I am a Yorkshire nationalist through and through and I am more attached to that than Britain as a whole and or Europe

Can't you download stuff off netflix and spotify so you can watch and listen to them offline anyway?

LaLaLand 27-10-2018 07:43 PM

I'd rather have no Netflix than an eventual United States of Europe tbh.

Storing stuff from Netflix to watch offline is a bit of a pain in the arse tbh, defeats the point of streaming really. Might as well just torrent a few movies or seasons of a show and watch them on any old media player.

People don't just travel for a holiday.

It is fairly easy tbh, just set the VPN to a UK server and it'll access a UK Netflix account from anywhere.

You need a paid VPN for Netflix to work well though, free ones are too slow. I don't know of any free ones that work on phones / tablets either (for apps, rather than browser)

Maru 27-10-2018 08:05 PM

Or leave your PC on at home and run a VPN server from your house...

Maru 27-10-2018 08:08 PM

It can't be as bad as running a dial up service using your modem and broadband. I used to have to do that for my Dreamcast to play PSOv2 because the ethernet adapter was both expensive and hard to find.

Therefore it isn't easy unless you're willing to subscribe to additional services. :smug:

Well yes, but A) if you get a good multiple year deal it works out like £2.50 a month and B) in my personal opinion, its just very ****ing sensible to use a VPN for almost all Internet activity these days :umm2:. Eyes everywhere :suspect:.

Yeah but if it hangs or decides to reboot or your cat unplugs something and you're away for a week, you're screwed :fist:.

I run a PLEX server from my PC, damn thing cut off half way through a film when I was at the in-laws :hmph:
