May her barrel always be obstructed and forever backfire in her face.

HUNTRESS?!

Huntress, sweetie, I'm so sorry that this wannabe bitch would even call herself that.

She's a waste of skin. Being proud of killing a goat for no good reason? Scum.

I have to say though, we aren't consistent with our anger here. People take pictures of fish after they are caught (granted, it's for measurement). We brag about pesticide use and kill off entire populations of bugs.

It's just creatures that are more mammal-like that we "empathize" with. i.e. more similar to us than not...

I actually think these pictures are vulgar and are undignifying of the animal they have killed. I don't like the fish ones either. I'm OK with hunting when it's done for culling purposes, and sometimes it's necessary to prevent other animal populations/mating areas to become endangered as well. However, I could never do it myself. Murder another creature in this way.

I feel bad even about killing bugs. I usually try to catch & release. Unless they're roaches. Roaches are awful around here. And need culling.

I have a paper wasp nest on the side of my house with a larger pop than last year my hubby wants to destroy, but I tell him to leave them because they're not harming us where they are at and help with pollination.

You can't compare trophy hunting to fishing or pest control.

Most people that fish will either eat what they catch or they do it for the sport and release fish afterwards. Insects are pests and we use insectiside to rid them from crops and the like. There's a purpose to killing them.

There is no purpose to trophy hunting, there's nothing to be gained for killing a goat for the sport especially considering that, you know, it's a goat, it's not like she took down an apex predator.

Maybe I didn't make it clear in my post, but this would seem to be out of context of my own. I'm referring to the contrasts in the emotive responses to photography and how that contrasts with other photographic habits. I'm not attempting to compare the fields at all... just reactive nature to the photography. (My own issues with bugs in particular are a separate matter)

We seem to have no issues with photographing ourselves with dead fish, dead deer, even when it is just trophy hunting, but with exotic mammals, they are a special class. I don't think there would be as much disdain of the latter issue if there weren't photos. The photos themselves and the reactions they illicit are what make conservation a big issue for so many.

I just think that putting that into the context of how we actually live, it's really interesting the contrast and how that plays out with common activities things like photographing/video-taping a hunt, boiling live animals, pouring oil and lighting a match over an ant-hill for YT fame. These things don't always illicit nearly the same kind of response and the fact we fixate on this in particular is really interesting to me.

Imagine this being your contribution to the world.

Disgraceful. Ban them from the UK.

animal cruelty is all over the world, sad but it's true :(

we need to do something about that, animals can't speak for themselves, so we need to speak for them and stand up for them

We're busy wiping out whole species with our greed and our sense of entitlement. Pretty soon we'll have taken every bit of land in order to feed our burgeoning population. Children in the world are dying for the want of a drink of clean water while we in the west are funding IVF. Every time nature comes up with a way to wipe us out, we find a cure for it. It's hard to know how the end will come for humans... wiped out by a pandemic we can't cure? Kill each other off with nuclear weapons? Whichever way it happens we'll sleepwalk into it thinking we're the kings of the world.
