his coming out story certainly gave him a reason to be given the win, but I do think he could have won regardless. He was an entertaining housemate and was one of the housemates that seemed to "define" the season more (the others being Lewis F, Tomasz and Akeem)

Akeem clearly got the anti Lewis support...and Cameron got the Lewis support after he left which was more substantial. Akeem tried too hard in the final week hence Cameron got the win...rightly so... |

I don't think Cameron 'played a game' or came out in order to win, but I do believe that had he not been gay in the first place, or did not come out, then he would not have won. I liked him and could relate to him a lot but it did annoy me HOW MUCH he moaned, when he is a BB superfan and it was his life dream to be in there. However, I do understand that everything is heightened in the BB house and you cannot relate unless you have been in there.
Also, after seeing Cameron's youtube videos while I was in the house I did start to like him less. (His video on feminism came across a bit offensive) |
I think maybe his 'coming out' helped but I think his friendship with Lewis secured his win. Lewis was favorite and his ejection from the house was seen as unjust for many..fan or not. A vote for Cameron was a vote for Lewis...it spoke volumes.
I liked Cameron and wouldn't wish to take any credit from him. His 'coming out' was early on in the series and he could easily have lost that momentum. His sultry teenage behaviour actually endeared people for showing such natural traits. Adding all these things up..his win was inevitable. |
So now the UK loves gaynesss, I'm sure the UK was hating gayness not long ago!!
