To be fair minded...although I do believe Anne puts everything she can't/won't do down to her condition...knowledge is the only thing she has to contribute to a conversation and she's totally unaware of when to use it and when not. She killed the conversation dead when she made that remark...but she's totally unaware and that I believe would be down to her autism.
But many other things she uses it as an excuse..IMO.
