Yeah... we've slipped substantially when it comes to the office of the President. Maybe it needed slipping. Hopefully the "right" people help to guide it back where it belongs over time... but I think the "glitz & glammer" of those prior political years are probably over. The symbolism of that office will have to become something else I think, because "getting that back" isn't really possible. Y'all appear to have some of it still left in your own politics I think, just judging by other comments made and there... but I think that for us, the "appreciation" for the office from the public's perspective is over at least for the time-being.... until we figure out what from here on best represents us... and not just spoiled rich folk in the beltway
Regarding the OP... it's Twitter... :laugh: there's a reason I quit. Trite inside jokes all over the site and all the creators have gone. Just nobodies fighting over what remains of what used to be a decent platform for easy "adulation" and clicks. I secretly wish they would deplatform Trump just so I don't have to see it embedded in every news article anymore...
