got most of other types of booze tbh, but we've developed this tradition, the same like we decide on a Xmas day bird (and sometimes it's not a bird) we decide to have either port or sherry; it's fun :hee:

I vote Port, nothing like a nice hot port over the festive period

your vote has been counted, Niamh :)

Has to be snowballs at Christmas; Advocat, lemonade, and a splash of lime juice.

this is what you want after a big Christmas dinner and it goes well with a Cuban cigar

Gav hates whiskey. I'm glad you've abandoned the Scottish Whiskey for an Irish one though LT :smug:

Did it Tuesday as only day I am off work all day until next Friday and no way I am going to town on the 21st of December.... And got it in morrisons. Collected stamps all year worth 50 quids and had a more voucher for 24 pounds so spent nothing

A normal food shop will commence the week before Christmas.

I abhor people who stock up on 12 of everything as though there's a famine. :nono:

The shops are closed ONE DAY, and even then a lot of the local convenience stores, especially ones ran by people who don't celebrate Christmas, decide to open on Christmas Day.

I think we get the drinks this weekend then the big shop in the 23rd.

Crimson Dynamo 13-12-2018 04:42 PM

I went into Tesco just there to get the CHristmas Spectator as a gift for myself (which i have already wrapped and put under tree so i wont be tempted to read) and a box of Isla Negra and I swear i could feel a touch of hysteria in the air from shoppers

Just ordered my £100 shop from Asda deliveries.

Too scared to be in the supermarkets among a lot of people in case I get flu'. :p

BigSister 14-12-2018 07:46 PM

Sometime next week probably latest will be at the weekend and will probably go to Tesco

Nancy. 14-12-2018 08:08 PM

We usually do a big shop from either Morrisons or Sainsbury's and then go to M&S for the fruit and veg and special stuff. Costs a fortune from M&S but it tastes divine.
