The soundtrack is doing complete average, it was not a hit. The movie also did pretty average. There haven't been many big films out this year and shes still not top 10, it's not exactly great for a Bradley Cooper film [as he sold it lets be real here]
None of the songs will have the longevity of even half of The Greatest Showman songs, nor will the movie/soundtrack have the same impact or even close to it.

DouglasS 13-12-2018 07:21 PM

Will Lady Gaga be relevant again?

I LOVE Madonna but I’ll never understand the double standard of if someone does something similar to her, it’s plagiarism/copying, but if she does something similar to someone else it’s her ‘taking inspiration’? Like??

The soundtrack is one of the most successful soundtracks since Frozen, the movie has made nearly 10 times its budget back, the film’s been nominated for a bunch of Golden Globes, and it’s tipped to be nominated for heaps of Oscars. What are you on about?

Predicting whether something has longevity or not is pointless because we won’t know until we get there on anything.

It's a bit embarrassing at this point in her career to call Lady Gaga a fad. She's done incredibly well with music and her acting has come on leaps and bounds and she has been highly praised for A Star Is Born.

I am not even a fan per say but she is brilliantly talented.

Well after just a week it had more longevity than any of Madge's piss poor attempts at acting.

Then again she pisses all over her musically too as she can actually sing.

Madonna still dressing like a slut at 60 doesn't make her anymore relevant.

Madonna was relevant for 25 years though, Lady Gaga was for about 4. I'm not even a fan of either, but only one of them can be called a superstar..

She was okay around the Fame era, it was a good album. It's the only album with good songs and multiple hits, all the others under performed in some way. She was relevant 2008-2012:wavey:.

it's an interesting dichotomy how Lady Gaga is a great singer but most of her songs (apart from the majority of The Fame) are crap, while Madonna is a mediocre singer but has some awesome songs.

And yeah, at this point it's clear Gaga can survive without her cringey gimmicks.

Gaga has released some of the best songs of her career in the last 3 years

Take several seats

Just because there's been more than one successful soundtracks this year doesn't mean that this one isn't a success

B*tch she's Madonna
She can Express herself just like a virgin
She ain't crossing no borderline with this 'Lucky Star' Gaga
Lady Gaga rung and Madge hung up
Gaga needs to get into the groove because she lives in a ghost town
Madonna lives for love on La Isla Bonita

glibberglobber 13-12-2018 08:56 PM

To call one of the most successful female artists ever petty IS petty

So... again, you liked her for about 4 years. That's a different topic.

My mind still boggles at people calling ARTPOP a flop when compared to almost ALL of her contemporaries it outsold both critically and commercially.

You can have all the success in the world and still be petty; acting like Gaga copied her because she used a variation of a rather generic phrase is petty.
