Some people want safe spaces and be able to use any excuse to hide away from the things that actually matter and some people want to actually see the important matters progress. Its not worth arguing, just two differences of opinions here. I’m just not snowflakey enough. |
There is no place in society for misogyny
And this the year of the woman too |

I'm saying it's a distraction, a smokescreen. If he actually used a slur of some sort then I could understand the outrage but as it stands, it's just faux outrage from people who don't want to face up to what their votes have brought upon themselves. People who voted Leave AND Tory have ****ed themselves and no amount of ignoring the government's mistakes in favour to focus on the opposition is going to change that. Better to focus on the present and real dangers rather than pretend to be outraged over fluff. |
Despite all news showing it,
Corbyn later confirmed he only said "Stupid People" So Parliament accepts it. |

if theresa had said “stupid man” about jeremy would that have been misandry? |

It's a dumb thing to get upset about either way but the truth is, the people calling foul on this aren't actually bothered about it, they just want a reason to rage about the opposition. |

Parliament's too concerned with one-upping each other in the press and scoring points when a deadline looms ahead and we're no closer to having anything resembling a plan. This whole story and the faux outrage that comes with it is just another attempt at getting the nation to focus elsewhere. |
It really looked like stupid people to me, but obviously it’s open to interpretation. I dont recall seeing this outrage when David Mundell told Yvette Cooper to ‘shut up, bitch’

I wouldn't get annoyed at someone calling him a stupid man. But if a Tory called a female Labour MP a stupid woman I'd be just as annoyed. And it wouldn't matter what else was going on in the world. All the time women are a minority in parliament it would annoy me. |
Talking about whether it would be as bad if the genders were reversed misses the point that women are under-represented in Parliament and have always been subject to discrimination and harassment in Westminster by men who have no respect for them, comments like 'stupid woman' are rooted in that culture
