Isn't it Annabelle 3?

Shaun 06-02-2019 02:01 PM

1) Godzilla sequel
2) Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
3) The Goldfinch - one of my all-time favourite novels, had no idea they were making a film based on it.
4) Where'd You Go, Bernadette?
5) Zombieland: Double Tap

Potentially interested in: Charlie's Angels reboot, Jumanji 2 (the first remake was pretty decent in its own merit), Us, Lego Movie 2, Toy Story 4 (VERY trepidatious over that one, though)

Lost interest in the Marvel franchise when they started pumping out 4 movies a year and expecting me to keep up with all of them. Nonces.
I also enjoyed the Artemis Fowl books so I'd be intrigued to see if they translate well to film with Kenneth Branagh at the helm

You're missing out big time! Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War have all been incredible. Not too late to catch up

Tony Montana 06-02-2019 02:42 PM

I didn't even know there was a Charlie's angels reboot. I enjoyed the Cameron, Lucy and Drew films so I'm here for it

James 07-02-2019 07:17 PM

Only one vote here for Star Wars Episode 9... it looks like people are losing interest in it.

I really liked Doctor Strange too.

I've never actually watched it, I need to watch it asap. It's one of the few MCU films I've never seen.

I loved him in Infinity War

I concur. On a second viewing, it's awful.

Disney really ruined the Star Wars legacy with the awful recent movies.

1977 - 1983 are masterpieces. The one's that followed were terrible.

Revenge of the Sith And Rogue One Were Fantastic

The rest were awful

LaLaLand 07-02-2019 11:51 PM

A new trailer just dropped for the Pet Sematary remake and it looks genuinely good. It differs from the book and OG film in that

Spoiler:

it's not the little boy that dies and comes back to life, it's the older sister.

Hopefully a return to Tarantino's Pulp Fiction/Jackie Brown greatness.

When I was looking at the films released this year I noticed this.

I have found the new films okay, but not great. I actually like the animated series they did - Star Wars Rebels - better than any of the recent films.

Yeah that's a different movie going straight to Netflix I believe. It's a semi-fictional account of the murders, where Tate's supposed to be having "visions" and stuff in the run up to the event. Many aren't happy about it and are calling it exploitation but I'll give it a watch, it's had good reviews at early screenings so.

Episode 7 was very good, haven't seen 8 yet but it got good reviews? Not sure where the criticism's coming from.

Smithy 08-02-2019 06:17 PM

Rogue One was excellent, probably the best Star Wars film imo, the rest have been trash

Amy Jade 08-02-2019 07:05 PM

The Lion King
Aladdin
Pet Semetary
IT: Chapter ll
Happy Death Day 2 U

It's full of inconsistencies and jumps the shark completely like 10 times. Basically I found it very, very hard to maintain suspension of disbelief... and I watch the CW Flash so that is really saying something :joker:.

Spoiler:

Kylo Ren's ability level is all over the place, as is Rey's.

The throne room fight sequence makes NO sense, and is laughably choreographed. At one point you can see a guy just "lie down dead" without even getting hit.

You could cut Finn out of the movie entirely, his entire storyline, it would make no difference. And they randomly hook him up with an even-more-pointless new character.

All of the "high level Rebel commanders" seem to have IQ's of about 70. Seriously.

Leia flies through space in a robe suddenly using advanced Force abilities when she's previously only shown vague force sensitivity. That was the final straw for me. It's stupid.

Basically it breaks all of the SW universes established "rules", constantly. I can get on board with even really high concept sci-fi but it has to be consistent.

James 11-02-2019 02:10 PM

I've only seen Last Jedi and Solo once, but I didn't find Force Awakens or Rogue One all that re-watchable. The last third of Rogue One is good Star Wars fun, the first two-thirds kinda dull.

I'm trying to catch-up with the MCU films and I just watched Doctor Strange. I liked it at the beginning, with the setup of the character but was less interested as it went on.

I love Rogue One. That and Revenge of the Sith are the only two great post original trilogy films.

I rank them all of them as

1. Empire strikes back
2. A New Hope
3. Revenge of the Sith
4. Return of the Jedi
5. Rogue One
6. Force Awakens
7. Attack of the Clones
8. The Last Jedi
9. Phantom Menace

I need to see Doctor Strange. it's one of the few MCU films I haven't watched. I liked him in Infinity War and he's one of my favourite comic book superheroes

James 12-03-2019 10:13 AM

I want to see this new documentary about Apollo 11.

Also, having finally caught up on Avengers: Infinity War I'll throw Endgame into most anticipated.

I watched Last Jedi again, and to be honest, it is kinda boring up (Luke on the island stuff, casino planet) until the Rey, Kylo, Snoke throne-room scene, then it gets very good for a bit (but they cop-out on the Rey-Kylo team-up), and then the end is okay.

Oh, forgot about that, so that too. Spider-Man: Homecoming is my favourite MCU film.

Not sure about the new trailer though?
