Again I have to add that how one says something is as important as what one is saying.

This is a basic aspect of communication that I'm constantly getting the feeling people wish was not the case.

This is an issue that is sensitive for many people, and one that can be tackled without getting angry and being (let's face it, often deliberately) offensive "in outrage". There's no need and it's not going to help the case, either. More people will listen if the dialogue is compassionate rather than combative .

I mean you say that as if it's a one sided thing. In actual fact transactivists are far far far more insulting and angry than any opposing their views on some trans issues. Maybe you should look into that a bit more before you judge, eh?

I am sick of these stupid arguments. Some women are better at sports than some men and some men are better at some sports than women. The gender they were assigned at birth really doesn't matter at all.

You think there is no need for sex segregation in sports then?

If there was not sex segregation...there would be like, no women in the top 100 (possibly more..) in any sport thats physical!

Don't be ****ing stupid Jessica, that's so factually incorrect

Serena Williams in her peak was by far the best female tennis player and was beaten by the 203rd ranked Karsten Braasch for example

so put a 100m male runner in to the womens 100m and he would have no advantage, I wonder why they ever segregated sports

Some reading, for people who think that there is not much difference in males and females in sport. 10%(+..depending on the sport) performance gap might not seem like a lot, but it is. And the advantages males have are fairly well documented..this is just a blog post (though seems accurate on everything, I checked a fair few of what it said) so search up differences with male and female bodies or whatever. Advantages males have over females is a known thing, not just some idea someones had. Hence segregated sports to start with.

Males are better (at sports, at least). Males are faster. Males are stronger. The performance gap between male and female athletes is utterly astounding; it’s not a “gap”, it’s the Grand Canyon.

If it was mixed sex.. female record holders would be non-existent.

She's right. Taking hormones is not going to change all the advantages/disadvantages a bio male or a bio female has over one another. The heart, lungs, reflexes, etc, are biologically different.

Tom4784 20-02-2019 09:08 PM

Just another case of the left cannibalising itself.

She didn't say anything bad, I personally think she's right. A transgender woman will always have an innate biological advantage in most sports over a cisgendered woman. It's just fact and I agree that I don't think it's fair on other competitors who don't have that advantage.

I can see cisgendered female athletes being cast aside in favour of trans athletes before long and that's not right. It should be talent and skill that determines the best in a sport, not gender and the biological advantages that come with it.

Martina is still being deomonized by many as she refuses to back down from..fact. Anyway, thought this would fit here

https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-...ression-battle

How odd, that someone with male physiology would beat people with female physiology! Hubbard is apparently going for the Olympics, which should blow the lid off this current unfair practise we have going on, as more people will be aware of whats going on, and fairly sure the huge majority will see it for the unfair rubbish it is. I cannot believe there are many people who actually believe that there is no difference between the sexes in terms of strength and such, even though they might say it to try and appear 'progressive' or whatever. If there was no difference, there would be no need for segregation in the first place.

It will be interesting to see the wider public's reactions to this alright Vicky if she competes in the Olympics. I can't imagine many viewers thinking it's fair. I feel sorry for the other competitors, all that time, effort and dedication for nothing...or a silver medal at best
