83. Grigio Girls // Joanne (track 12) // 2016 Lowest-ranked Joanne track I feel a certain sense of guilt in ranking Grigio Girls second-last out of eighty-four damn songs. It has a beautiful sentiment, devoted to her friend Sonja who has since passed away, and other female pillars in her life, and the above video is a lovely homage for that. However, I just find that despite the uplifting message of the song, the melody, production, and even Gaga's vocals manage to make Grigio Girls so uninspiring. I must praise the lyricism, but somehow I have never been able to connect with this song, and find it entirely skippable. |

82. Brown Eyes // The Fame (track 13) // 2008 This performance on the Jonathan Ross Show is superior to the album version. Unlike Paper Gangsta, Brown Eyes is typical pop debut fodder, and I'm not here for it. It's a sickly-sweet, prepubescent heartbreak song, and I just find it kinda hard to stomach. Even for a first outing, this is an incredibly weak ballad by Gaga's standards. |
81. Boys Boys Boys // The Fame (track 11) // 2008 This may cause fumes, but BBB does very little for me. It's a fun, cute little track, and again, typical pop debut shtick, but the best elements of BBB are embodied on far better songs elsewhere on The Fame. BBB for me is just part of the middle-late portion of The Fame that I find really sub-par. "Love it when you call me eggs, in the morning buy me eggs" is iconic though https://i.gifer.com/Yqta.gif |

I'm finding like 6 to 70 exceeedingly difficult :skull:

80. Americano // Born This Way (track 5) // 2011 Lowest-ranked Born This Way track On Born This Way, an album filled with abstract concepts and experimental production, Americano feels right at home. It's just...it's not much fun to listen to. I like the concept, but I've never really enjoyed listening to it. AaAaAaAah...AMERICAAA...AMERICANOoOoOoO honestly hurts my ears a bit, and I always feel a sense of relief when the song ends with the gunshot and Hair begins. |
79. The Cure // non-album single // 2017 Lowest-ranked single I remember waking up on that April morning in 2017 and being both stunned and frilled that Gaga had debuted a new single at Coachella. I adored the breezy, summer sound, and thought it was like nothing she'd done before. I had it on repeat for days, I even had it on loop for my 5k in the park :skull: It was also nice for Gaga to have a single with longevity in the UK after PI/MR totally failing at that - The Cure lingered around number 20 for six or seven weeks. However, within weeks I was bored. And here I am, two years later, and for me it's a bottom-ten Gaga song, and certainly the worst single she's released. Apparently it's a reject from ASIB, but without the narrative and story that each song from the ASIB soundtrack obviously has, The Cure is completely vapid and dull. It's not even a good song, I can't lie. The chorus is very trudgey, the lyrics are excruciatingly plain, and the sample of her near-whistle tone singing that repeats through the chorus is annoying. I just don't know what she was trying to do here... The Joanne era was going smoothly, so I guess it was just a gift to the fans, and a taste of things to come from the ASIB era. But as a Gaga single, it feels completely devoid of soul. Spoiler: |
The fuccking page is still stretched
