They are and that's wrong but frankly that's because the elderly in care are often treated absolutely abysmally. It's really shameful. They're also not treated very well in hospitals, either, so honestly I think it just comes down to being devalued in people's mindsets. It's diminishing returns for age in hospitals really. Kids are usually very well supported (which is great, obviously). Adults for the most part get acceptable care. The elderly are treated like an afterthought and a burden... Or like they're invisible. It's just shocking.

Because a lot of people are vindictive and bloodthirsty but they're polite enough not to let it show in most cases unless it's something that they feel they can get away with without judgement.

Because they are angry that the prisoners can watch TV while their frail aunty ethel is sat at home with no tv cause the scumbag sat watching TV smoking weed jangling keys in his pocket robbed it of her and smashed it on the way out...poor aunty ethel sat with 2 bars on her leccy fire to watch...I'm hoping the blanket she hugs whilst sat terrified of repercussions has a nice pattern on it to relieve her boredom and terror.

Theres a rather large amount of space in the middle area, between being treat like cattle and being treat like you are just living your normal life/have a BETTER life than many, while you are meant to be being punished for crimes.

Personally I think it's a fecking tragedy that some people would rather be in prison than out living their life, no matter how "nice" prison apparently is. Who would trade places with these people, genuinely? None of us. Their lives are so miserable that they'd rather be locked away for better conditions. What a world.
