Who has been harmed because a gingerbread biscuit was described as male? That that's now somehow wrong? Talk about first world problems. I want a biscuit but I don't want one that's been misgendered.
How do other countries cope with their languages making some of their words male, some female and some neutral? Shouldn't we just change all words to neutral? |

Let people vote with their wallets - if people get their knickers in a twist over it and purposely buy gingerbread men elsewhere, then Co-Op will lose business. If people agree with the move, they'll sell more. Or (the most likely option) no-one normal would much notice, and the wrappers would be discarded without a second thought whatever was printed on them. |
