I care, but don't really actively do anything to help. So probably don't care enough. I don't drop litter and that though and get sad when I see pics of penguins choking on plastic bags, but I still usually do not remember to take bags with me and tbh, I have a whole kitchen cupboard full of them that I will 'definitely use next bloody time'. I also rage a bit about the silly paper straws that collapse after being in your drink 5 mins..

On the other hand, whenever I see coca cola in a glass bottle, I buy that. But its mainly as it tastes so much better. Things like that would help a lot I think, using glass bottles for drinks, but I suppose it would lead to more people being glassed :/

tbh those bags should be £1, and the money should go into planting trees, or other environmental causes.

My collection to be worth a few grand?! :o

Level 5 is actually funny

Smithy 17-04-2019 10:17 PM

Do you all not recycle? :nono:

Vicky. 17-04-2019 10:23 PM

I recycle, my recylcing bin is actually full to the brim and tomorrow on collection day I plan on dumping a load of cardboard into neighbours bins (they never have owt in theirs, they only seem to recyckle endless alcohol bottles..)

smudgie 17-04-2019 10:40 PM

Hubby recycles everything possible.
We only use the car sparingly and we don’t fly.
We do however use a lot of gas and electricity
I detest anything wrapped in plastic with a passion.

i try to be less flatulent, so I think i'm doing my bit

user104658 18-04-2019 07:51 AM

Milk caps aren't supposed to go in the blue bin?

Crimson Dynamo 18-04-2019 07:54 AM

the TL just bought these wee hessian bags to put veg in at the supermarket and we already have these

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....XL._SX466_.jpg

she is actively getting rid of plastic in the house, she spends a fortune on this, even her toothbrush is like bamboo and hair or summat - all her make up is plastic and animal free and everything from dog bowls to the basin in the sink has been replaced

its little things by individuals that will make the most change. change yourself first before you glue your vagina to a Routemaster

They started putting cardboard straws in McDonalds milkshakes ffs! The end colapses after 30 seconds and then because the milkshake is thick... you can't ****ing drink it :fist:. I'm going to just start carrying around my own damn straws :hmph:.

Hmmm

OK so I just got so annoyed thinking about the milkshakes that I bought a pack of 250 plastic straws from Amazon to keep in the car. So change me to Level 1 I guess :joker:.

Ehh. I don't care what attitude they have, they're only in my life for about a couple of minutes, and then gone. Like my lovers:[

Tbf it also helps people who may have anxiety. But this doesn't really apply to shops. More with ordering food e.g. Maccies

Crimson Dynamo 18-04-2019 08:33 AM

is it true that all the recycle stuff you do in maccies allgoes in one bin out the back?

:suspect:

In that case we'd better eat as much as possible, so there's less for them to waste! Any excuse...

I didn't know this either. Mind, I do not 'wash' my rubbish either, I actively recycle a lot, but like hell am I standing washing old tins and stuff like I do the dishes! D: If people DON'T do this, then someone else gets a job out of it tbh. I see this kind of thing similar to self service checkouts. If people will do it themselves, then someone else loses out o a job. And, am a bit lazy and the thought of standing washing out tins and stuff when its rubbish is just ridiculous to me also

(I actually did used to rinse tins, until the binman kicked off one day about one I had done that was on the top not being utterly spotless. Thats when I got my 'go to hell' head on :idc: )

chuff me dizzy 18-04-2019 11:30 AM

I use my blue recycle bin to give me more room in the other bin ,would I go out of way and OTT to care about the environment ? Probably not ,but I never, ever drop litter its one of my big pet hates

Northern Monkey 18-04-2019 12:10 PM

I think most people care.
I just think most people realise that there’s not actually anything we can do to prevent the impending doom.
Specially when the big superpowers who create most of the Co2 aren’t doing anything.

We could stall it for a few years...maybe.But the Earth is going to heat up and cool down again whatever us mere mortals do.
There’s many other factors other than just us.
There’s going to be plenty of species after we’re wiped out there’ll just be more species that suit the environment better, then eventually Earth will be a dead planet like Mars.

I'd say im somewhere between 3 and 4

I recycle for the most part but I also wouldn't hesitate to litter :joker: I chuck a banana skin out my car window on the way home from work everyday because I eat lunch in there
