But by 2021 whoever is PM will say NO. |
Let them have their referendum, the situation has changed since the last time and they deserve the chance to decide if they want to stick with us or with the EU.

But one person will have the say in 2021 and whoever is the PM will say No. |

And there's no need to be racist :nono:. It's "och", and also, the Scottish dialect is phonetically complete and so we enunciate the "th" sound and thus would never say "de noo". Were not Irish :hmph: |

IFS: Scotland to get billions of English income tax First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will publish her taxation plans today but the Institute for Fiscal Studies says that the recent deal between the UK and Scottish governments is unfair to taxpayers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...ncome-tax.html Livia and I will padlock the gate after you guys vote out  |

I was listening to LBC earlier, a lady from the SNP said Scotland would raise taxes to make up for money lost if they left the UK ... why would anyone want that?

I am a strong admirer of Nicola Sturgeon.
I think she does a really good job as First Minister. As for another independence vote, I think if she has that passed in Holyrood. It's a disgrace the UK government could refuse it. We have this English votes for English laws in Parliament now. It would be shameful if the elected governing body of the Scottish devolved Parliament, was refused a new independence vote by English, Irish and Welsh MPs. England does dictate to the rest of the UK. With it's massively greater population as opposed to the 3 other, when it suits, so called 3 other equal Nations of the UK. If I lived in Scotland, I'd be with Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP all the way on this. Listening to the acidic comments I've witnessed from in the main the South of England against Scotland is frankly sickening. Scotland has been taken for granted, and been the testing dumping ground of dubious policies by the 2 main Parties of the UK for way too long and it should be the case now that enough is enough now, as to that. In my opinion. |

the financial aspects of independence won't enter into it. I can see an independence vote being successful purely from the mess that has been on display daily at westminster. I don't want to be ruled by that lot, not for a moment, and the feeling from the folks in Scotland will be magnified 10 fold
|
On a practical level how will the border be policed, NI style checkpoints, a Trump style wall :omgno: If Scotland does achieve independence and then subsequently gets accepted back into the EU, free movement will pose a significant problem?
