- 24/7 Live feed return (red button style).
- Retain 6/7 day a week highlights.
- Return to a more basic house design (circa BB1~BB5ish).
- Rylan axed.
- Re-introduce chicken coops.
- Bathroom/shower cams reintroduced ;)
- Re-introduce the weekly episode with the psychologists.
- At all costs avoid the US/Canada format. Just dreadful.
- More diverse casting of housemates.
- Remove the "PC" attitude of the producers. Earlier seasons were much more entertaining when producers didn't step in and would allow hm's to diffuse the situations on their own.
- Evil BB was entertaining back in BB5 - would love to see a season where this was re-introduced.
- 100% no outside world contact. This started to fall by the wayside later in the shows run.
- Less gameshow-y tasks. Less showing housemates live feeds during the tasks.

Tbh the show was so well made back in the early days and then they started changing it and the format of the show they ended on last year was such a drag.

a crazy mix of housemates

more tasks / twists designed to go viral and draw shock/controversy tbh

If BBUK was to return on a different channel, how would you change the format and production to make it a success? These are my (un-asked for) thoughts :p

The three main ingredients it NEEDS are:

Live feed: I used to not be that bothered about this but if it was to return it would set BB apart from the other reality shows and create a buzz online as events unfold. Also imo it's not a coincidence that the C5 series with the most live feed is the most watched.

Varied cast: I don't think any non-celeb series has ever got the casting completely right. It needs a large cast with a huge range of personalities. Ordinary Joes, messy oldies, chavs, snobs, freaks, and a few Love Island-esque fitties to keep Fiat 500 twitter happy.

Let them talk about nominations: Keep the classic consistent BBUK format but let them talk about noms. The first few weeks of BB13 when they were allowed to was the peak of that series, dont @ me!

But wow what an essay!

I agree with all of this. 24 hour live feed. A genuine mix of housemates like our Joe who works in McDonalds. And they should talk about nominations. That will be the natural ruthless game play without big brother intervening. And absolutely no contact from the outside world. Maybe on a Friday night the housemates should hear the boos and cheers? Not sure which would be more beneficial though.

And of course highlights should be shown every single night and Big Brothers Big Mouth should be on every single night.

An 8 week series would be long enough I think. Start off with 14 housemates on launch night and only put in someone else if someone walks.

I did like Big Brother bit on the psych. But they should just integrate that in Big Brothers Big Mouth which they do anyway.

The concept is very 2000s ish, so its a tough one.

- should have SOME love island esque housemates but ones who are interesting/entertaining personalities too, half the LI cast were bigger characters than BB in recent years anyway, but just no one like Alex from BB17 who's simply there cuz he's good looking, we need more than that.

- classic BB eccentrics, c5 lacked in this area, we need the Dereks and the Marys and the Petes and basically everyone from BB6.

- upmarket the **** out of the show, no more tackiness, have a sponser of something than a ****ty casino site.

- replace Rylan with an up and coming comedian, the next Russell brand/jack whitehall or james corden (but someone actually funny) somebody like Joel dommett and have the show less like BOTS and more like Big Mouth, there's a difference.

-24/7 Live Feed
-Highlights to air at least 5x a week
-Move evictions to Thursdays as people go out on Fridays and don’t stay in to watch TV
-Allow nominations talks (It was gripping when BB13 has it)
-Have a minimum 3 housemates up for eviction and make it a VOTE TO SAVE
-NO WEEK 1 EVICTION!
We lose too many good housemates almost every year in Week 1
-Bring back davina , And Keep Emma too
-Cut the music out of the editing. We don’t need it
-have a steady schedule nightly ideally 9pm
-good promotion and media coverage
-an 11 week series with 14 housemates on launch and maybe 2 or 3 late comers
-Eccentric freak cast with a diverse age range and diverse in terms of culture

Strangely had a dream last night about a revived series eviction show. It was fronted by Davina along with two other presenters, but she was in a random garden and you got the feeling it wasn't live as another host (no-one in particular, just a non-Rylan male) did the interview with the evictee on an eye-shaped couch on a huge covered stage outside the house. Also you never saw the evictee leave the house - just after the break they turned up being driven through the crowd in an open top vintage car. It all looked rather interesting, but quite wrong!

For me the essentials are live feed, normal casting, shows not being every night, spin-offs kept to a minimum and the eviction show being a well produced live show in it's own right, not just highlights with an eviction tagged on the end. A new house and axing the outdoor mob in favour of a controlled studio crowd are a must too.

Personally I think it has to be about competition and although personally I wouldn't be against going completely down the US/Canada route and ditching the public vote I think a compromise to keep the public vote would be for the best. I'd have the public choose a third nominee after the HoH chooses their nominees. The Veto would then play out, and then the public would save one of the final three nominees, with the house then voting to evict one of the final two nominees.

I can’t imagine anyone (outside of TV executives) that can argue that live feed for any BB revival around the world isn’t absolutely essential. It’s a moot point really... That said I don’t believe that moving towards a US style format is a direction BBUK should move in. If anything relaunching the format under completely new branding could work but, unlike other worldwide markets the core format in the UK still has legs.

I think continuing the upward trajectory of the final three Channel 5 series could prove successful in the long term. Especially if production can find a broadcast partner committed to a focus on brining BB back core elements that made BB successful in the first place rather than one off gimmicks. While fans may be divided on the final civilian series I think production proved that they can stay true to the core BB format and still push the show forward. I’m disappointed that they weren’t given a shot at a second series as I think they established a strong base for future series much in the same manner series 5, 6, and 7 all seemed to build off the success of the previous series.

If an American style format is the future of BB then I think I have a far superior format with a far better balance of public engagement and in-house game dynamics... If BB-OTT proved anything is that HM’s will always chose the path of least resistance. Allowing the public to outright nominate resulted more often than not in extremely predictable results as the HM’s sided with the public’s target as the easier option.

My format is as follows:

HM’s compete for HOH with the HoH nominating two HM’s for eviction. A public vote will award another HM immunity as well as a secondary power called The Golden Key. This HM will then award a third nomination; this power cannot be awarded in consecutive weeks. The three nominees will then compete in the Battle of the Block for a chance to remove themselves from the nomination block. In this format there is no replacement nominee. In the final vote the HoH is given an additional power to void a fellow HM’s vote which will then be replaced by the majority in a public vote. The remaining HM’s will vote as normal. Should the house vote result in a deadlock the public vote reins supreme.
