Crazy that the self proclaimed 'land of the free' like restricting personal freedoms.

They are disregarding the supreme court's ruling and it's insane. I've never seen anything like it.

A total boycott of Ohio, Georgia and Alabama needs to happen. No tourism, no money from hollywood productions, nothing. Let them bleed money for their barbarity.

Trump has been pandering to the bible belt for votes which has enabled them, and this is the result.

AnnieK 16-05-2019 07:45 AM

I have no words for this, other than disgraceful.

The difference here is, Alabama are taking a step backwards where as NI just haven't taken the step forward yet and I'm confident they will. There's a massive difference between the two

****ing horrific.

Pro-lifers are dickheads, if you don't like abortion, don't have one.

I was arguing with a MRA about abortion a few weeks back. He was all 'women are evil, using it as contraception' etc..obviiusly wanted it banned. BUT, when I asked how people would support these kids they don't want, he started banging on about how fathers (as its usually fathers who **** off for whatever reason) should definitely not be made to pay for their childrens upbringing.

He was going on about how if the father didn't want a child and the mother did, then the man should be able to force the woman to get an abortion...yet, still making out his opinion was for the sake of the kids..rather than just wanting men to be able to do what tey want with no consequences. So men can make someone have an abourtion , however, if the woman wants one, shes wrong and should be denied.

So, he is not pro-life at all, he simply wants to control womens bodies, while having a getout clause for when the woman is forced to have a baby, as god forbid the bloke has to do anything. Horrible and sexist to ask him to support his child (and yes, the other way too, in the rare cases where mothers refuse to pay maintenence..)

The actual prolifers (rather than MRAs posing as them) never ever have an answer when you ask where are all these unwanted kids going to go.

Yep and if these men don't want to pay for a child/or have their child aborted, why aren't they using condoms to prevent that happening, it's so much easier than any other form of contraception?

*yes I realise condoms can break but the vast majority of unwanted pregnancies are due to unprotected sex

That’s unfortunately a very common theme, pro-lifers only care about kids when they’re in the womb, but as soon as their born, they’re on their own.
While they’re making abortions illegal they’re also cutting funding that helps people who need help to raise their kids, even cutting social programmes that protect kids from bad situations, they couldn’t give a toss whether the kid is going to live their life in an abusive household, or a poor one where they’re going to starve, or they’re going to live their life suffering from incurable diseases/deformities, they don’t care about the sanctity or the quality of life, as long as women do what the dinosaur men say to do, it’s disgusting.
Land of the free eh?

As you probably know we had our abortion referendum here last year, thankfully most people I spoke to about it were pro choice but those who weren't (all men funnily enough) were people who I know for a fact has no idea what it takes to raise a child (and I'm not saying they weren't parents, they were just misogynistic men who had minimal involvement in the raising of their own kids cos that's a mothers job, right?)

Imagine having that sort of attitude in 2019 :idc:

I think I heard something about these states wanting to ban contraception as well, so they essentially want to Inpregnate whoever they want and force them to raise their babies on their own if they want nothing to do with it.

What I find funny is, I wonder how many of the people who put this law into power have had their marriages saved by getting their mistresses to have abortions.

Religion in power is dangerous, people shouldn’t have the power to make people of a different, or no religion, follow their religion by law, it’s dictatorship at the core.

Forcing women to have babies they don't want, stops them from educating themselves and progressing in life, it keeps them back down the pecking order were they belong............ under his eye

Vicky. 16-05-2019 11:22 AM

I don't get why its meant to be expected that women don't have control of their own bodies tbh. As I said, if you don't like abortion, simply don't have one. Taking the choice away from others is wrong.

Also I think a lot of people don't realise how dangerous pregnancy actually is..just because we are fairly advanced so deaths and such have gone down does not negate the fact that this is sentencing a fair few women to death (and others to injries too..that last forever), for the crime of having sex and being female..

And yup, pro lifers care nothing about the kids once they are out, so its obviously about actually about caring about kids, its all about control.

Serious questions that I'd like you to answer

Do you think banning abortion is the right thing to do?
Should women have to travel across state lines to receive healthcare?
Is banning abortion on religious not scientific grounds ok with you?

Liam- 16-05-2019 11:24 AM

I’ll never understand why women back things like this, how can they be happy having a bunch of prehistoric men telling them what they can and can’t do with their bodies? The mind boggles

Religion and lack of education is my guess
