My experience of heterosexual men is that they don't need an excuse to get together and drink beer.

Marsh. 05-06-2019 04:54 PM

Every weekend in any town or city centre is straight pride. Thuggish behaviour.

Livia 05-06-2019 05:00 PM

I've been to a few gay clubs... Heaven... GAY... never seen a fight. Have I just been lucky? Genuine question.

No, the most you’ll get it’s two bottoms arguing about whether Britney or Beyoncé is better

If gay pride didn’t exist, straight people wouldn’t have demanded one :idc:

That's interesting. And yeah, seen a few dramatic disagreements... but never a proper fight.

Thats been my experience too. Going out usually I see a fair few fights (or am involved in one :umm2: ) but when we go to the pink triangle instead..there never ever seems to be any trouble. The only time I did see a slight issue was two drag queens scrapping, scratching and slapping and pulling each others wigs...still not sure if that was a 'show' or random  So yeah, been going to gay bars forever, and never anywhere near as much trouble as in 'other' bars. Don't even seem to get those idiots who treat the bar staff like ****e either..

I don't want to make a habit of agreeing with you Smithy, but it's not like straight people, in my own experience of Pride, aren't welcome to join in the celebrations.

Sis... leave off stereotypes when talking to straights, it's bad enough as it is

Ahhh drag queens. I remember rolling out of Heaven at about 3am, just as a magnificently over the top drag queen was arriving by rickshaw. I remember thinking, I'm unlikely to see anything that spectacular ever again.

Some of them really are a work of art I think. The sequin dresses and that, I wish I could pull it off  They also tend to be able to do makeup much better than me..mind I refuse to spend more than about a minute putting on too much eyeliner and covering spots if I have them and thats my lot

Fights do happen in gay clubs, but it is rare.
And gays can treat staff like **** too.

The one I saw had a kind of Geisha vibe going on. Yeah, like you say, a work of art.

Well of course..just so much rarer than other places. So haven't seen it personally in years and years. Atmosphere is so much different, generally its a positive one where you can tell people have come out to have fun..like, in other places the atmosphere is awful and it always seems everyones on a knife edge ready to snap..too many straight blokes seem to go out specifically TO fight.

Liam- 05-06-2019 05:17 PM

Clubbing isn’t my thing, but gay clubs even less so, I just have this imagine in my head of a bunch of twinks in nothing but hot pants and wings getting wasted and judging everyone that walks in from their corner, I’m probably very wrong, but just can’t see myself fitting in somehow
