so.... is she the new bond or..?

user104658 14-07-2019 07:29 PM

No. She's the new agent with the code 007. Bond is still in the film - he is no longer Agent 007.

Its not that complicated folks!

Cherie 14-07-2019 07:38 PM

meh, I have never watched a Bond movie in my life, and I won't be starting now

I mean yes, to be fair, I generally struggle to get through a Bond film :umm2:. I liked Goldeneye and Casino Royale. Other than that ... ...

It's was the same character all the time which obviously they had to recast but white middle age men dont just turn into a young black woman

So you think the first Bond movie to the current one is a continuous story with the same character?

Ok.

Ok.

Every single actor has played the same character that's a fact

We don't want to see the worst part of Captain Marvel moping around, when that screentime could be spent on better things.

If they're going with this storyline, why not choose someone hot?

Just bin this Fleabag rubbish.

But were Sean Connery and Daniel Craig the same version of the character?

No.

Middle aged dark haired Scottish men do not turn into much younger, muscular blonde English men. Fact.

Anyway they need to stop the female remakes for the sake of it.

Ghost Busters and Oceans 8 was terrible.

If they want an all female cast they should find original ideas that would be much better

What does an all-female remake have to do with a female character in a James Bond movie?

Were Ghostbusters and Ocean's 8 crap because it was all women? Not really. It was because they had weak scripts.

Because half of the thread topics were about a woman being 007

That was only true up until 'Die Another Day', that being said, they never really had any call backs or hints to the past so it might as well have not been.

Since Casino Royale, it has been a continuing story, and thanks to that, in Spectre, it seems Bond does retire from being 007 (also because he is getting older), so it only makes sense that another Agent would take his double 0 position, and it just so happens that Agent is a woman, its not a big deal, its just the same deal as Sean Bean being 006.

They were crap because they were put together with little thought with the hope that an all star cast could make it successful where as a new film is more thought out in my opinion they only have to look at a few recent all female movies that were fantastic

You're right. The Ocean's franchise NEVER uses an all star cast. That's not what made ANY of them successful.

You said Ocean's 8 failed because they attempted to sell it on its all star cast.... you know, just like the George Clooney and Brad Pitt ones, even the Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin one.

But... this one was about women, therefore THAT must be the reason it failed. :idc:

Try discussing the point instead of resorting to insults.
