As Obama once said, he’s not the condition, he’s one of the symptoms, he’s just taking advantage of the backwards feelings towards minorities that have always been and always will be present in America, they can say they’re the most forward, progressive, greatest country in the world all they want, but everyone knows it’s not true at this point, it’s utterly terrifying, but unfortunately not surprising

No one said that, stop lying, this is what causes discord on the forum, and starts the threads going off topic.Always in the right,(my arse)

...that is the terrifying thing and it really is terrifying...Trump is just doing Trump, he has no concept or understanding of life outside of the gilding on his cage and the prejudices he holds...but there are people actually cheering him, like something from a horror movie....and yet I presume they do have more understanding of the country around them...?...it can only be because he’s feeding them what they hunger for....

If you look on Twitter, the general response from republicans and Trump supporters is that they deserve it for constantly bashing the president, I’m not lying about anything, so I’ll politely ask you to curb the attitude.

He’s allowing their racism and bigotry to come to the surface and giving them the voice they haven’t had since the 50’s and 60’s, the worst of America is definitely tearing its ugly head again, I said the other day and I fully stand by it, if he gets another term, which I think he will, I really don’t think it’ll be long before there’s some form of segregation again

I wont argue with you but you never mentioned twitter and I rarely look on Twitter ,so obviously your post seemed to be a twist of mine if that was not the case,I apologise.

The thing is, these people haven't changed their opinions because Trump said something, he is just stirring up like-minded people. America has always had these problems, it's just been hidden from view

Ammi 18-07-2019 05:07 PM

...this is why I feel and fear that it’ll take decades to right Trumps wrongs and how much his term of office is causing regression...the feelings he’s stirring up are not going to go quickly and the damage could be very far-reaching in the future, long after his office has gone...

Yes, he's emboldening bigotry which allows it to take hold and spread, and that is a massive problem.

GiRTh 18-07-2019 05:38 PM

They should go back cuz they moan too much eh? Does anyone who say that know how Donnie's political career started/? No one has done more moaning over the years about the state of American than Donnie himself but no one ever told him to go back to where he came from. Donnie is only a 2nd generation American while some of these women have families that have been American for 4-5 generations.

The fact he lapped it up showed what he's about. Every previous President would have tried to stop the chant, John MCCain did exactly that in 2008 when he ran against Obama and someone insisted Obama was not an American citizen, but not Donnie, this is what hes about and these rallies are becoming more and more extreme

Call him bigoted instead.

Yeah....it seems pretty bob on to me

Twosugars 18-07-2019 05:49 PM

He's picking on them bc they're not white.
And he is a white supremacist

...’when they chanted send her back, why didn’t you stop them...’....

...’I think I did, they were talking fast...well I think I did, I was not happy with it ...’...lie/lie/bluster/bluster/lie/lie ...

joeysteele 18-07-2019 07:41 PM

He stood there lapping it up as they were chanting it.

Honestly, he is as low as it's possible to get, in my view.

Cuomo did this with a couple of guests the other day and the lack of response was telling. I'd actually respect them more if they said - Yes, I'd still support a racist- cus its clear they would.

...I couldn’t watch it all..the sickening gymnastic attempts of trying to excuse and deflect and deny and nothing he was saying was making sense...just silly excuses for someone whose beliefs are as one...

GiRTh 18-07-2019 08:03 PM

Exactly. There are only two answers to the question. The 'but, but what about' is not a valid answer. All of them struggled to give a yes or no.

Same diversion tactics we get in this forum every day at the moment

There was a republican on one of those news shows the other day who, when asked ‘would you vote for an openly racist republican candidate?’ And they answered ‘depends who was running against them’ that really says everything you need to know about the state of the Republican Party today, gone are the days of the respect and honour of John McCain

his demeanor and facial expressions as they were chanting it say otherwise!

Sounds absolutely spot on.
