apparently there are breeds that do not require shearing but domesticated sheep would just get heavier and heavier and the heat would kill them

Oh interesting, I wonder was it humans who bred them to be that way? Seems a bit cruel that nature would create an animal that would die without human intervention

I think domesticated sheep are bred specifically for their wool
