...he was planning to carry out an arson spree targeting synagogues in the Durham area using Molotov cocktails...?...
“Speaking after sentencing, Det Ch Supt Martin Snowden from Durham Police said: "It is never an easy decision to investigate, to arrest and prosecute children of this age. "We only do this when we think it is the last resort for us to go down that line. "Prevention is always better than prosecution - we would have always preferred to engage earlier and divert him away from these beliefs and this activity." |
lol, i bet he was
did they find said items in his house? |
I wonder if there would be so much sympathy for the boy if he was an islamic terrorist and not 'just' a neo-nazi. You only have to look at America to know how much death and destruction an extremist teenager can unleash. He might not have been able to get his hands on a gun but he would have likely attempted an attack in some form. They don't jail teenagers on terrorism charges just for being misunderstood....

He had already been referred to PREVENT he was an autistic minor so who was at fault here... why was he given access to the internet given his obsession? There were multiple failings here that for some reason it's thought will be amended by throwing him in jail :/ https://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...-a9273696.html |

The view would be the same from me, yes teenagers can be extremists too this autistic young man was identified at 13, he was far from misunderstood, they were well aware of the threat he posed. My thoughts are could something have been done sooner, and is prison the best place for him? |
