I usually am but I'm too lazy these days.

My room's a bloody mess!

Cherie 19-01-2020 07:10 PM

Pretty tidy, not obsessive though

This. Some days there's no point even trying.

I have a house of stuff... I dont know where it all comes from! I want to be minimalist and am constantly sorting out places like cupboards and the loft, going to the tip and charity shops with bags and bags.... then poooof ! In a couple of months it's as bad! :(

smudgie 19-01-2020 09:00 PM

I wish.
We just get everything sorted then we end up with housepests.
Sorted a few drawers out today in front room, first time it has looked tidy since xmas...then a phone call from son saying he will be spending a few days with us.
His wife arrives in 10 days time so hopefully he will have found somewhere by then.:hehe:

Oh, and my bedroom is a tip, xmas sacks and stockings and heavens knows what else all over the floor.

Jigs 19-01-2020 09:16 PM

Things I get precious about:
Food chunks in the kitchen sink
Water puddles/water marks around the sink
Food splatters on the hob
Colour-coordinating the contents of my wardrobe
Dirty sofa cushions
Cereal/cheese left open to go stale
Clean bedsheets!

Things I don't bother with:
Hoovering floors
Cleaning the toilet
Dusting all the time
Emptying the bin until it's ABSOLUTELY necessary
Having a specific place for everything
General gardening, wall fillering or other DIY activities

Marsh. 19-01-2020 09:46 PM

You're obsessed with water marks in a sink but don't clean your toilet and floors??? :omgno:

I cant cook in a dirty kitchen but I wouldnt say I was particularly tidy. If I make a big meal I have to wash the easy pots and at least put the harder pots to soak before I can eat anything. I know if I dont, then it'll only make things worse down the line. I rarely if ever have any thing in the sink when I go to bed. Everything has to be washed before the end of the night.

Yeah I don't mind a couple of cups and a plate, but a sink full of dishes sitting there first thing in the morning is the WORST :bawling:.

I'm an organised mess

Crimson Dynamo 20-01-2020 08:46 AM

today I took the green bin out

my neighbour's bin was already out - at an angle, handles not facing out and lid half open with a black bag spilling out

i tilted the bin a little and it was light (ie not rammed full of stuff) so i lifted the lid and with one push i was able to push the black bin in and shut the lid.

so they literally threw the black bag in the bin and did not even consider pushing it down to shut the lid to help the binman

It beggars belief

I think you need help :omgno: I would never even think to turn the handles round  that is their job :oh:

Niamh. 20-01-2020 11:12 AM

I'm not naturally tidy but I do my best to motivate myself

Yeah I don't enjoy cleaning or many household chores but I can't relax if the place is a tip (or cook in a filthy kitchen) So it's a matter of forcing myself to do stuff
