I hate when **** like this comes up because it feels like yet another stick to attack trans people with.

The guy is a sick pervert who is trying to use a loophole.

That isn't the intention, it's to be allowed to discuss the topic of Self ID and it's implications on other people

I hate stories like these because the boomers will use stuff like this to justify their hatred of transpeople and the LGBT as a whole since people still like to compare homosexuality to paedophilia.

The man is a predator trying to say and do anything to get out of trouble, nothing more, nothing less.

That's fair enough, I was more on about the story than this debate you guys are having. I think self ID should only be able to be used once you are in touch with NHS (or the equivalent abroad) about trans stuff, rather than just being able to declare it with nothing to back it up

Clearly this guy isn't anything other than a sexual predator. I certainly wasn't trying to say otherwise. My only point in posting this I guess was to highlight how making Self ID too easy, you will have people looking to exploit loopholes (like that Yaniv weirdo in Canada) And people should be talking about potential problems so that everyone is protected as much as they can be. I think shutting down conversations will only make bad feelings fester and worse like TS said earlier

That all seems fair enough, though the NHS does require you to self identify before they allow patients to get HRT, so it'd a bit of a difficult thing. Trans people in general understand why the NHS does this but would prefer to be diagnosed and get the HRT without having to self identify before any actual medical stuff has taken place.

Or an 85 yrs old woman ( they live longer)

I agree with you to an extent as the Media are obsessed with demonizing minority groups.

Sadly it's easy for these criminals to use the Trans cause for their perverted behaviour by making out that they're apart of the community because these criminals believe that it'll get them out of trouble with the law.
