That's what should have happened rather than wasting the police's time and traumatising the girl. She's 6 years old and doesn't really understand what's right and what's wrong.

Teachers have as much responsibility to instill good behaviour in young children as much as the childrens parents. To palm them off on the police when I'm sure the police have far better things to be doing is sooooo questionable. I understand tough teachings and what not but to actually pull the kid out of school and CUFF them (idgaf if they used the word "tie", it was a cuffing) is really irresponsible on the school and police officers part.

In order to teach a kid right from wrong you need to relay that information in a positive and productive way. This child might escape this situation without any lasting traumas but personally, I'd be worried that it would instill a really negative, bitter outlook on the world which would have further consequences for her and take her down the wrong path.

She shouldn't have hit her teacher but this punishment proves nothing besides the ineptitude of the teachers at this school.

Plus zip-tying her hands together is barbaric given she’s six !

Doubtful considering they have a Lawyer on board about it

I'm aware of that, thanks.

It was probably a shock tactic to stop her being naughty, but still its a blinking harsh punishment for a 6 year old, but kind of agree with Amy Jade.

I agree...but it could backfire and she will hate the police forever

The girl was processed at a county juvenile center, where her mugshot and fingerprints were taken. She even had to stand on a stool so her booking photo could be taken, her grandmother said.

In an unrelated incident that same day, Turner also arrested a 6-year-old boy at the school for misdemeanor battery. The boy was released before being processed

....police officers are meant to be felt as faces of safety for children...now what she’ll relate is a traumatic experience which is something that will be very difficult to erase...

It IS very young tbh rusti, but this kid maybe a nightmare to teach we really don't know, I doubt she will be hauled in front of a judge, hopefully it was just a scare tactic.:wavey:

...interesting as well that she is said to have sleep apnea which has a strong link to behavioural disorders...obviously because of continued sleep disruptive issues...

Not really there always has to be blame and those with power will target those who don't. Just as children bully weak children

Most likely an aggressive parent, mum I think. Need to get social services involved and remove child from the school.

Also ... in the clip the school staff tried to calm her down by telling her that her grandmother would pick her up afterwards..

We just don’t know the girls backstory she may not even have parents around for whatever reason

Disgusting.

US cops, shock horror. If that girl was 7 years older they would have probably shot her. That's how messed up they are.

The teacher should have been allowed to hit the little brat back.

Kizzy 27-02-2020 10:34 AM

You can excuse an irrational immature child lashing out. Not a teacher :/

6 is still pretty much a baby fgs

AnnieK 27-02-2020 11:42 AM

Jesus, at 6 a child still can't fully control their emotions and so can lash out. The teachers are **** if they do not know how to safely restrain and calm an over emotional child.

Ridiculous course of action to take.
