How many kids have used this to take the day off School, and gone home to play on the PlayStation?

How many teachers have used this to spend a Friday afternoon in the pub?

Kazanne 28-02-2020 12:38 PM

Its a bit reckless to do it at this time with the Coronavirus spreading as it is,so many crowded in one place, surely this could have waited a while.

I’ve literally just laughed at Oliver’s post about her being condemned about potentially spreading the flu and the proof is in this pudding right here.

I'm not condemning her ,so laugh away ,all I said is surely it could have waited , what is the point of us being told to be careful and being vigilant when some don't care ? Already some sports competitions and schools etc have been closed, so what the point in any of us caring, lets just do what we want, ? It may be an over-reaction , but it may also NOT be, then will we still be laughing

Exactly , but if things like this gathering of masses of people can go on what is the point of the NHS etc telling us not to mingle as much as possible, and if it all goes tits up the same people will be moaning that we didn't get any advice.

It's very typical of the Right to focus on the small things to undermine the big picture.

No, Greta isn't going to spread the Coronavirus by making an appearance and one day off school isn't going to hurt the children's education.

Also the whole attitude of 'Well, why isn't she going after ASIA ANd INDIA?!' is just an excuse for complacency and laziness. She's not a superhero, she can't save the world but if she reaches people and makes them more environmentally conscious then that can only be a good thing, aside from the Right Wing wanting to live in denial, of course.

arista 28-02-2020 01:24 PM

Dezzy all those kids should be
in School.

a day off school is bad and its not been one has it. and to say that a large gathering in a city centre is not going to spread a highly contagious virus is just false news

and who are "the right" you are referring to? :conf:

Surely if you're so scared of Corona and you aren't just using it as an excuse to push your own agenda then surely you should be saying that the best place for kids wouldn't be at school but at home. After all, Japan has closed schools in the wake of the outbreak.

The parents that sent their kids to see a speach by a noble peace prize winner as she talked about the biggest concern of their generation have done parenting right. No teacher will have a tenth of the impact today.

Yes Japan is a different country in a different place with a far greater population density and a different virus profile.

The kids would have been more useful going to help clean up the mess in places caused by the latest storms.than attending the sermon on the mount.
