When the Ebola crisis hit , I still carried on as normal. What good is panicking going to achieve?? .

Like I said it's worrying with the coronavirus, but the fear mongering is too much .

Yes smudgie and plenty of nappies , although the potty training has come to the fore now :hee: lets hope it doesn't come to too many shortages.

were towns in Italy locked down during ebola ...no

Was Venice a ghost town...no

this is completely different, Ebola was pretty much kept in Africa apart from one Scottish nurse, how you can compare the two is incredible

British Airways and Ryanair have cancelled hundreds of flights between the UK and parts of Europe and the US due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The BA cancellations include journeys between Heathrow and Italy, France, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Ireland and Switzerland - plus New York's JFK.
The airline has also cancelled flights between Gatwick and Italy, France and Albania - and London City flights to and from Italy and Germany - after another spike in COVID-19 cases in the UK.
BA said the changes to its timetable as a result of the coronavirus outbreak would see "a number of flights merged between 16 March and 28 March".

I really didn't think it was that bad, until today really , hopefully most of it is asking us to be cautious, and more hygenic ,but yes we have to be as normal as possible.

AnnieK 02-03-2020 07:44 PM

I bought a few extra tins etc and have loads of pasta and pasata and I always bulk cook and freeze. Not panicking at all but worth being prepared

Josy 02-03-2020 07:45 PM

I need to know?

There are no empty shelves, people aren't buying lorry loads, just two bags of pasta instead of one, just in case.

Exactly.....its not stripping stores bare but considering what they are proposing if it gets much worse its prudent to stock up a little. They are forecasting a global recession which will hit all industries, including food so no need to panic but be realistic. I've seen worse panic buying on Christmas eve...you know when the shops are shut for a full 24 hours

all you basically need are some lentils and some rice. Buy a few bags ... total cost a couple of quid and you have food for months if needed.

Ammi 03-03-2020 06:54 AM

...for anyone who is stock piling essentials, this came up on my news thing this morning...just saying...
