WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE CELEBRITY
Okay so, this isn’t my ULTIMATE favourite celebrity but... that would’ve been too obvious, so judges take that as a clue. Still this lovely girl is one of my favourites. Just purely for how much time I can find myself wasting watching her videos, I’m going to give Anastasia Kingsnorth a massive shout. Lovely girl too
———

Matthew: Such a good song! Although since when has Twosugars had a favourite celebrity we all know about? Oh wait, Noel Fielding I forgot

Amy: The best Sia song on this list, you did well this round and I find you oddly likeable from your replies. Although you avoided my question I forgive you...could you be Ammi?

Sle: Cherie

Mitchell: RileyH hi Hun!

DO YOU PREFER STRICTLY COME DANICNG OR DANCING ON ICE AND WHY
———
It's funny because i've watched Dancing On Ice from series 1 and i've only seen about 4 or 5 series of strictly and I prefer Strictly come dancing because it's more entertaining to watch, better routines and way less predicable than dancing on ice. If DOi had Nicky91 dancing to I Came Here For Love for Disney week then Doi would be better hands down. The only issue i have with strictly is that poor Alexandra and Ashley were bullied for having experience.
———

Matthew: I was the one that asked this question thinking this was Strictly Jake but now I am not so sure. Mitchell seemed really confident this was Natalie last week so I’m going to leech onto his answers. Nice song!

Amy: This was fab and I enjoyed it, definitely top tier and fun. Your reply has me scratching my head though, I think we may have spoken about Ashley and Alexandra being bullied...LukeB?

Sle: Oh this is 100% Amy Jade, I’ve seen her bring up Ashley and Alex (which she’s right about) when people rooted for James, Perri etc

Mitchell: NATALIE LOVE U HUN

WHAT STATE OF AMERICA ARE YOU FROM
Giddy up and get ready to ride 'til you can't no more, because for one week only, the douche is heading west. The Wild West, that is, not Solihull. The song I'm performing is by up-and-coming pop star and recent British GQ cover boy Orville Peck, who incorporates a Lone Ranger mask into his persona to hide his real identity. Much like him, I've never knowingly shown anyone my face on here, I'm a self-described gay cowboy (by which I mean that I've been to a Kacey Musgraves gig and once bought a pair of Asos shoes with horses on them), and I'm going on tour with Harry Styles this October. That last one might have just been a dream that I had, now that I think about it. Anyway, don't let this hoedown ho down, and keep me in the competition! Now, where did I leave my lasso?
Answer to the judges' question: I, the douche, am from the 51st state of America.

———

Matthew: From American Boy, one of the best songs to ever exist...... to *this*, oh MB what a shame

Amy: You officially scare me, I literally feel like this song would be the song that played at the end of the horror movie you starred in. The 51st state reference got me thinking...are you Canadian or is that a red herring? I'll take a wild guess and say you are caprimint?

Sle: Marsh or Wizard

Mitchell: You’re fit mate, I’d use you to remove Turkey fat from a turkeys bottom, you are Babayaro x

MB, you’ve been an absolute delight, and by far the member I was most excited about playing! I was rooting for you to go all the way, but the quarter final is a respectable position!

First of all, thanks (and congrats!) to Morgan on making this so much fun to be a part of, and for running the game so well. I hope that means something coming from someone who rarely takes part in games these days! I agree with Withano that the Masked Singer format actually works better as a virtual game than it does in real life, the evidence of which is in the fact that I couldn't make a 100% assured guess as to the identities of any of the remaining contestants (even through process of elimination!)

I chose the Douche as my character because a) I am an incredibly immature adult who still finds bum jokes funny and because b) I'm not always known as the warmest person on TiBB, and this felt like an appropriate way to personify (and hopefully therefore begin to work through) one of my primary personality faults! I was hoping the anonymity of the game would allow me to judge the success of this My Fair Lady/Eliza Douchelittle-esque experiment, but alas, I was immune from the public vote at every opportunity and never got to prove, or indeed, disprove my hypothesis.

So, following Jay's example from last week, I'm going to run through some of the clues I gave regarding my identity over the past few rounds. In other words, caution: long-ass post ahead!

Week 2 (song: Water Me by Lizzo)

Some say being a douche must be a pain in the arse, but I don't mind being the butt of a joke or two. If you water me just right, this douche could rise to the top!

There weren't really any significant clues here tbh, other than the fact that I make a lot of puns and am a Lizzo fan (which doesn't mean much in this day and age, when every white suburban mum and her dog considers themselves a Lizzo fan, but hey, that's stardom for you)

Week 4 (song: Bootylicious by Destiny's Child)

I’m typing this from another country

This was the week we had to submit two truths and a lie about ourselves. The second one was the lie; I share my birthday with neither former Prime Minister Ashanti nor R&B pop goddess Margaret Thatcher. Our very own Babayaro, on the other hand, does (assuming I did my very limited research correctly), and so I put that one in there hoping it would throw some of the judges off the scent. And given that Mitchell guessed that I was Babayaro right up until the end, I think my red herring sort of paid of! In regard to the other two clues, I typed my entry for that week, much as I'm typing this current post, from the United States, specifically California, and I have indeed been part of a winning Eurovision entry. I just didn't specify that it was a TiBB Eurovision entry (I won in 2017)

Week 6 (song: Little Red Corvette by Prince)

I was happy to see this perplex quite a few people, who seemed confused by the fact that I could be in Manchester and the U.S. at once. I in fact saw Janelle the month before I moved out here, and she remains one of my favourite pop stars to this day even if she did just endorse Elizabeth Warren over Bernie Sanders!

Week 7 (song: American Boy by Estelle)

If I was pleasantly surprised that my Mercedes Benz/MB clue didn't raise eyebrows, I was positively amazed that only one person guessed who I was after dedicating an entire performance to Macie Lightfoot :joker:

By "I may be a week older than him", I mean that I joined TiBB six days before he did, something that I only found out while doing my research for this performance! As for the rest of this quote, you'll usually find us cohabiting in the reality TV sub-forums (mostly Survivor, occasionally Big Brother US), and wholeheartedly stanning the Bradley Kleiheges and Aurora McCrearys of this world

Which is to say he watches Survivor three hours ahead of me and I'm still getting to used to having to avoid checking the discussion thread during that time period!

Clearly I must have thought we were doing two truths and a lie again! (they're some pretty cool shoes, fyi) (also Orville Peck is a gay icon and Matthew should absolutely get into it asap)

The 51st state of America is the UK, so I figured that would be a more accurate answer than answering where I currently live in the U.S., and a more correct answer than "Leicester"

tl;dr: none of that really mattered and I would have been better off sending in whichever Sia song was leftover instead :hmph:

Finally, good luck to everyone remaining, and to all, keep up your good anal hygiene practices, as we all know that that's how the coronavirus gets transmitted. Douche out!

The more I think of it, the douche was the most characterised of the contestants, so it’s a shame to lose you, but you kept us guessing until the very end, unlike that pesky Natalie in a lion costume obvs

Had no clue you’d moved to America, but you were incredibly smart, the Babayaro birthday clue, mixed with the frequent America visits, it made perfect sense.

I had cottoned on that the whole ‘6 days older’ thing was in regards to the date you joined the forum, yet I hadn’t bothered looking at your profile, which probably further shows your deflection techniques :joker:
