Sadly, athletes gear their training around a specific goal date and a lot of the ones who have been targeting 2020 will not be at peak in 2021. Also means some young contenders who weren't going to be there will be primed for 2021, pushing some of this years hopefuls aside. A shame for them as they'll have been training for 4+ years for this summer.

given Asia maintaining control better than europe, i can understand his confidence, also IOC's Bach his faith in Japan's committee

but yeah postponing is for the best, to make every country happy
