Maybe so, but props on him for having the courage to try something

He's probably seen how much Curtis has managed to make compared to him from just doing 8 weeks on Love Island compared to the effort they have to go to on Strictly for a much weaker pay packet. I get the impression (I could be wrong) that the BBC are very strict with their stars' contracts in terms of what extra work they can do etc (for example on EastEnders Danny Dyer is allowed to do other shows with the BBC but was refused to do any with Dani Love Island related, whilst Jacqueline Jossa declined an invitation to go back to it because they wouldn't allow her to earn money from Instagram sponsorships and the like).

him leaving strictly for his career ok, but the way he leaves strictly, and this interview he did also puts him in a bad light

he kinda acts like he's some superstar

first being confirmed among pro dancer line up and then suddenly quitting :skull:

Not only does the interview make him seem lazy as he wasnt cut out for an 18 hour day when that he gets paid for what would be someones dream job. Also the way he says about showcasing a celebrity makes him seem like he wants the limelight and that it should be all about him. I just dont warm to him and curtis at all

But it’s common knowledge that the strictly wage isn’t a great one. Most of the dancers are there because it’s strictly and not because of the money. And like the celebrities, they get paid more the longer they stay in so it’s sensible to try and pursue a more regular wage than risk getting a lower one for a popular show.

i stanned Lauren, but mostly for her, not AJ

i stanned Mollie, also mostly her, not him

more coming across as lazy in that interview, but also like he really thinks he's bigger than strictly :joker:

Amy Jade 28-03-2020 03:43 PM

Good luck to him of course but him thinking he and Curtis are the next Ant and Dec is pure delusion.

Just because your opinion has changed of someone, doesn’t mean you have to immediately try and cover up the fact you ever liked them.

i don't though

but ok fair enough i did give him a chance on strictly, now the way he quit the show combined with that interview, makes me think of him as such a fame hungry vain smug idiot

''relief to quit''

''show stopped him and curtis to become the new ant and dec''

:laugh3: :laugh3:

Just read the article and you'll have to point out where exactly he said this.

He said him and Curtis would love to be the next Ant and Dec, not ''think they will be'' but ''love to be.''

The money from Strictly might not be what it would be on a commercial channel. But it's hardly money to be sniffed at, compared to proper work it's a generous packet for what they do.

Amy Jade 28-03-2020 07:34 PM

He didn't even tell them before he announced it.

Sorry but that is incredibly ungrateful and unprofessional.

£30-35k.

Which, for 3-6 months of work, is not bad.... but I can see why someone in his position would vie for more.

I wasn't around when this thread broke on here.

For me this is sad news as to Strictly.
I think he helped devise some of the better and more challenging routines.

However his face didn't seem to fit particularly with Shirley.
I often felt he and his partners were undermarked.

I like AJ and I hope he and his Brother find greater success elsewhere.
Good luck to them both.

he would've probably had a huge contender this year though (Maisie)

I don't think it would have mattered how good he and no matter who his partner were.

The judges often gave glowing praise but still marked them down.
Particularly Shirley.

As head judge in any dance off, if it had been down to her, she wouldn't have saved AJ and any partner, in the later stages.

I think he was underrated on the show and treated quite insultingly unnecessarily at times too.

To me just about most of his routines were the better ones.
Much more content and more challenging.

Clearly they don't really want that it seems on the show.
In my view anyway.

Now it's been confirmed he'll be swapping the glitzy ballroom for a Welsh castle after joining the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here cast of 2020.

Speaking ahead of Sunday's launch, AJ said he can’t wait to take part in what he describes as ‘the best programme on TV’.

“Doing I’m A Celebrity is a childhood dream come true,” explained AJ. “I was so excited to watch the return of Strictly this Autumn but now I am going to be on an even better show! I can’t wait!”

He added: “I think my friends from Strictly like Neil (Jones) and Janette (Manrara) are going to watch, which is really nice.

"They have always known how much I have wanted to do this programme as I have talked about it all the time!”

Asked what he is most looking forward to and the professional dancer replied: “When I walk into the camp for the first time, I will be like the kid in the candy shop!

“People see me on Strictly with fake tan and sparkles but nobody knows me. It will be nice for people to see me and get to know who I am.”

AJ admitted: “I am unbelievably competitive and whatever the challenge is, I will go for it. I will give everything 110 per cent. I really appreciate life and I never take anything for granted. I will be trying to come back with all the stars every single time and if I don’t, I think I will be disappointed.”

Meanwhile, AJ confessed he hopes it will lead to other TV opportunities.

“My push is to do more TV presenting with my brother, Curtis,” he shared. “We’ve done things on Lorraine but we would love to have our own TV show together.

"He is so excited and he can’t wait for everyone to see me in there. We’ve got a podcast now and he will be talking about me on that too!”

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here begins on Sunday night at 9PM on ITV.
such a ungrateful little child :bored: he got a lot of praise from his celeb partners but nooooo still not enough
