I just ignore those provocative type posts now.
I've learned you can't even defend yourself on here now anyway.

Anyhow, back to this issue.
She may have been more misguided than it saying anything about herself.

However, she did run for the leadership earlier this year and should know what's right.

I applaud Starmer for his prompt action.
No messing there.

Due process for those that racially abused and tormented Dianne Abbott, instant dismissal for someone retweeting an interview that criticised Israeli police training?

Let’s call it was it is, he’s taken the opportunity to get rid of the socialist in his cabinet, it’s a power move

I agree. She should have known better, and that people would be waiting to push the antisemitism line at the earliest opportunity.

I think it's an overreaction, but I also completely understand why Starmer did it. However, Rachel Reeves praised Nancy Astor, a famed and open anti-semite and she gets to keep her job, although Nancy Astor is well liked by tories, so there's no danger of having anti semitism spread across the papers for her.

The fact that this lady could have been leader is chilling

Was she sacked then?

They tally up perfectly well, by learning not to defend himself and avoid arguments, he has taken the only route available to him, by ignoring them.

Unless you can point out the inconsistency, not sure what you're trying to do other than bait?

Beso 25-06-2020 05:58 PM

I used to enjoy chatting with Joey....

I'm glad he also stopped trying to defend himself...like I did in this thread.

I'm quite impressed with Starmers response on this. While not explicitly anti-semitic, the article does reek of the unhealthy obsession with 'the evil of Israel' which has made so many Jews think the party is hostile towards them. Many countries around the world cooperate in the training of their police forces but of course its the Israeli training that caused a Minnesota police officer to kill someone, they do control everything after all

He'd do better to replace her with another leftie. It's good for any cabinet (government or shadow) to have balance, and it'd also show he's not trying to get rid of "Corbynites"

I actually like his appointments.

I don't think it matters which side of the party shadow appointments are.
It's good he's already shown no matter who they are.
He will act to put in place trust again, particularly on any even possible antisemitism issues.

I like Rebecca, she ought to have known better than this really.
She was at Jeremy Corbyn's side all through and saw the damage, even the slightest issue brought to him.

Grossly unfairly at times in my view.

It's surprising she even bothered with this really.
However I support Starmer's immediate action.
Really commendable.

They are both legal experts so should there be any truth to the matter that will of course come out. If not then it was the right call.

The truth will out it always does eventually.

I agree with all of this, unsurprisingly.

The extreme left's obsession with Israel is bizarre

Obsession

The Slim Reaper 27-06-2020 07:18 PM

Now would be a good time to contribute to the thread if you have something to add. Pretty sure other fm's shouldn't be the obsessive topic of your posts. Especially in SD.
