I put "yes" but I guess "when appropriate" is more accurate? Not sure why anyone would wear one when it's not appropriate .

Some people may wear them if they were just going outdoors for a walk, whereas other would wear them in shops/at work where it’s more appropriate

Only in work really as I'm never around anyone outside work at the moment

Just pointing out your comparison makes no sense, at least come up with a better comparison to make your point

Babayaro. 13-07-2020 09:25 PM

I wear it on the bus and inside shops, etc. Basically, what the government has told us to do.

Babayaro. 13-07-2020 09:28 PM

If you purposely choose not to wear a mask and don't have a valid reason for doing so, then you're an idiot.

Jarrod 13-07-2020 09:34 PM

I do but it's a bloody nightmare with glasses.

To be fair, lockdown hasn't ended. Restrictions have been eased but we are still restricted. I know many people who haven't their houses yet for a variety of reasons.

Putting yourself and others at risk by potentially infecting them with a debilitating respiratory virus that could be avoided by simply wearing a mask... such a laughing matter it is!

Speaking of which, it's now mandatory to wear a mask in shops in England from the 24th of July (a decision that's four months too late if you ask me)

No, quite clearly that was @ the tying laces comparison, but keep trying to take things out of context for your own satisfaction

I would say lockdown has ended but there are still a lot of restrictions in place to prevent the spread. And Yes like you said people are staying at home for a variety of reasons, some may be shielding, that is why I was assuming some people may need a fourth option to be added to the poll, and why some forum members hadn’t voted yet were contributing

Jigs 13-07-2020 09:40 PM

Yeah it's fun being disguised tbf

MTVN 13-07-2020 09:43 PM

Well I'll wear one where it's mandatory but given that

- We've all been told until recently that they are not necessary and possibly not effective

- The majority of the country don't wear one and the last time this poll was done hardly anyone said they wore one

- Other measures - namely distancing and good hygiene - are much more important and are things I have always tried to do

I don't think it's that outrageous that some people aren't in the habit of wearing them yet and it doesn't just mean that they're 'idiots' or 'pussies'

Moniqua 13-07-2020 09:44 PM

says it all really :idc:

Except you weren’t though were you, you were just being contrary for the sake of it. And no the comparison was fine, clearly it just went over your head

Jack backtracking to make out his comment was about lockdown is one of the funniest things I've read on here.

The government have been giving mixed messages and numerous u-turns about the masks the whole time, so that lack of clarity along with comfortability and them interfering with my glasses, I've not really worn a mask much. Obviously, if it's going into law I will be (but it won't be necessary in bars/restaurants ... ?).

I did wear one to the BLM protests I've attended though where I've been close to large groups.
