I miss my family in Italy. Haven't seen them in a year.

Hope they were all OK Vanessa

Oh yeah, they're all well.
Italy is doing great at the moment.
But I miss them and my country a lot.

Luckily had a lil few days vacation trip to Atlantic City at the beginning of the year (AC = decent vacation spot in NJ esp for a gambler :hehe:) because other than that I think most likely no other vacations for me in 2020 </3

People trying to rush abroad are really odd. We have a perfectly good country here with so many things to do.

Now that we're free to go anywhere I've booked most of my weekends meeting up with friends at bars, parks or at their house. It doesn't exactly compare to an all-inclusive in Turkey but anyone who still has overseas holidays as a priority considering the current global situation is clearly detached from the seriousness of it.

ETA: Just read the other posts in here and don't want to come across as insensitive. I am referring to the people who are rushing away on holidays just for the sake of it; not to see families/kids in those countries, etc.

My God is there anything some members won’t try to shame others on TiBB ....its frankly none of your business how people live their lives, no laws are being broken by going out of the UK, you are just as likely to get corona on holiday in the UK or meeting up with friends in bars :douf:

I'm staying put.

MTVN 14-07-2020 05:52 PM

I've got a week off right now but I'm not going anywhere, just making use of pubs being open again and all the sport on telly :spin2:

I was really lucky to have a big holiday literally 2 weeks before lockdown so I'm not in a rush to go anywhere

Love how Spain is complaining the British are going over and just getting pissed and not keeping to social distancing ~ why do the Bristish behave like this ? respect another country's rules or stay home, our reputation will only worsen if these knobheads are allowed to travel.

Yeah we were away in Feb as well... looking at Sept when the schools are back to head off again Covid permitting :fc:

smudgie 14-07-2020 06:43 PM

Our son and his wife have put an offer on a property with 3 acres of land, full of glorious trees and lawn leading down to the river.....hoping for plenty of invites come the decent weather.:cheer2:

Captain.Remy 14-07-2020 06:49 PM

We were supposed to go to Iceland (flights booked in February etc) before getting married, but we're going to Brittany in France instead, stay in a nice beach house on the northern coast, hike in nature and chill....if we're not back in lockdown in September :(
We wanted to go to Jersey and Guernsey while we are up there, but we are limiting overseas travels.

...the wedding still all as planned, though..?..we were going to a wedding in France in June but it’s now October, which I hope will go ahead...so, so disappointing when so many plans have taken so long in the making...

..I have to say that the thought of getting on/being on the plane holds quite a few anxieties, even though I’ve worked all the way through and had some contact with ‘high risk‘ people...it’s the enclosed space of the aircraft cabin and I’m not the best flier anyway...so I might need therapy when I get it booked to overcome those anxieties...

It does in theory Cherie, but these two are ruddy useless, they find a house, fall in love with it, then see something they like better.
Kids start schools in September so they need to get settled.

Ammi 14-07-2020 07:12 PM

...kids eh, who would have ‘em, Smudgie...

LukeB 14-07-2020 07:32 PM

I have a Portugal holiday at the end of September (which i booked last year) Me and my friend haven't made a decision yet but like we are seeing whats it going to be like from other peoples reviews and depending if Portugal has a massive spike.

Yes, it was already planned for October because we wanted a fall wedding! I know so many people wanted to get married in 2020 but it's all been delayed until next year or this winter. I understand the frustration because planning a wedding is nothing but easy  At least we don't have to worry about delaying...unless a second wave is preventing us from it!

Daniel-X 14-07-2020 08:17 PM

Heading to Ibiza for a weekend in September with one of my friends

We would be lost without them really.
Can’t believe both of them are “coming home” in as much as big move from America to within 8 miles of us, plus daughter is looking to come back up north, on the lookout for a new job.

You must be delighted, an unexpected bonus from Covid, making people rethink their situations
