The way she tried to pass it off as a joke but she wasn't having it. I HATE stuff like this so cringe. :worry:

I went off Ellen a while back, she has been doing the same thing for too long, it's tired and unneeded. She needs to retire.

As much as I dislike her, I don't necessarily think it's fair to expect she is directly complicit in some of these abuses. Then again, I'd imagine she's a pretty powerful player in the show considering her wealth and mainstream appeal, and it's very easy to knowingly turn a blind eye to some behind the scenes behaviour.

He also *allegedly* turned up to a Writers Guild Association meeting to personally advocate for paying the writers on his show less

Ellen's public-facing persona up until now has been of a woman who gives millions to charity each year, it doesn't mean she can't be a completely different person behind the scenes (and, as it seems, she is)

Let's not blame Ellen for what goes on in secret behind the scenes when she (very likely) is nowhere present during these times. Don't get me wrong, I can see how Ellen's personality might ruffle a few feathers especially when it comes to various workplace disputes as I can imagine Ellen is very hands-off and that comes across as her being detached from the concerns of "real people". but I wouldn't be so quick to assume that she is in any way involved in or complicit in the sexual misconduct of her producers; some of which she probably has very little to no contact with.

Ultimately, showbiz does turn some people into colder, harsher versions of their previous selves. Especially for someone like Ellen who has been at the peak of her game and is very highly sought after/relevant in American showbusiness, I can imagine it's easier for her to have an elitist state of mind. I, again, wouldn't take it too serious. Many brash and aggressive people have made a living out of being harsh so people are probably butthurt about this because it's Ellen and people unfairly assume that she's the perfect woman. She isn't.

I was just going to post the same thing oddly enough .. she says something about not being in total control of all the staff below her .... and there will be changes

The more I hear about Ellen the more she comes across as self centered and dislikeable .

And it seems there's scandal after scandal with her now.

Is it really about her or the staff lower down working on the set ??

Well whether or not she's apart of these allegations, it's still her show and she definitely has a responsibity and I wouldn't be surprised if she turned a blind eye to what's going on.

A few people who have been on the show and worked for Ellen have said how they've either had racist remarks from staff , been ignored & experienced rudeness and a attitude problem from Ellen herself.

She likes to have the slogen.of "be kind" but that's clearly for when the cameras are rolling, it's all fake & insincere.

She doesn't seem to care about her employees or guests , she seems to think they're beneath her .

...I honestly know very little about Ellen, other than she’s a huge ‘power’ in the circles of Oprah etc...her ‘allies’ or the people that she felt were ‘allies’ are people of huge power also...how many will stand with her and how many will speak out against her, will be interesting...it’s a story that has a lot of unfolding yet, I think...

..I was just thinking...many people in the USA must be totally crushed with a story like this because Ellen must have a huge following/be very much loved with her fans...on the forum, we tend to be old cynics and all...oh, we knew she’s a bit of a bully...:laugh:...but if it were someone like Emma Willis, we could never believe/..well, we’d find it incredibly difficult ....

There are always unpleasant sides to people that rise to the top in these fields. TV personas mean nothing

...excuse me, we all know that Emma is an exception, how very dare you...

I’ve only seen references to staff being abusive not Ellen though ..

I honestly don’t see how it’s her fault tbh

In any field. You don't get to the top without stepping on a few others along the way.

I doubt it'll be long until Ellen herself is mired in scandals.

There's unpleasant sides to all of us. :laugh:

I suppose these positions probably tempt the bad sides out more and very few of them remain grounded and controlled.
