They're not going to be much better on a Radeon R7 Nicky :umm2:. I'd be surprised if most games play at all (though LiS1 might hit 30fps on low settings). You won't get 1440p native, that's certain.

I would STRONGLY recommend dropping another 150 euros on a dedicated graphics card, either a GTX1060 (nVidia) or an rx570 (AMD).

I'm normally an nVidia fanboy but I just built a little 2nd PC for my youngest (mostly out of spares from my old i5) and dropped an rx570 in it. Very decent card for the price. I wouldn't put an AMD in my own system of course, ew, but it's just for the kids so ....

Ya, you won't be able to play much using that on board video card.

Thoughts and prayers for Nickys gaming career.

Go to https://www.pcgamebenchmark.com/ to find if your computer runs certain games.

I have found onboard graphics run quite a lot of games, even some newer ones.

umm it will of course at least bit better than on a laptop (which isn't meant for games in the first place)

even if quality is similar to my previous desktop computer or slightly better i would still be happy

fingers crossed current laptop will boot properly until i have new computer, after that it will be partially my concern, only whenever i need to help out my nan since she is very clueless as for technology stuff, she just likes being online to read newspapers

Standard graphics are pretty good these days and will run a lot of games. Expensive graphics add ons will bring additional shading and a better frame rate, but thats not essential.

Nicky91 10-08-2020 04:50 PM

anyway laptop is still doing something right, i see 2 green lights again and battery charged up to 98%

so hope for the best it can keep doing well, so i can be charitable and give this one away to my nan

but anyway i feel relieved i have everything i want on the external hard-drive either, just music2pc i haven't but that one is easy to download online so

CCleaner i want to keep of course, i love this fast safe and cleanup program

There are gaming laptops that exist ans are meant for gaming purposes.

You could have built a gaming computer for the amount of money you spent.

Not if the onboard graphics are an R7 :umm2:. And not if you're trying to run a 1440p monitor at native resolution.

You'll get 30fps on low at 1080p on games from maybe 2017 and earlier. Trying to run anything at 1440p will kill it. For the same money you could buy a decent 1080p monitor AND a card, which you might as well do if you can't run anything at 1440 anyway .

I won't deny being a graphics snob though, I'm running a £750 card :joker:.
