It presents a real issue for the Black Panther franchise. On the one hand it would seem terrible to replace him, on the other the franchise has been huge in introducing a black superhero into the MCU and I'm sure was something he was very proud of. I'd think that the best path would probably be to cast a new character as a new Black Panther, rather than another actor as the same character. Preserve his character in the movies as just being played by him.

I gasped when the heard. So shocked. Rip Chadwick.

RIP. I’ve never seen the Black Panther film but it is always so tragic when somebody dies so young to such a cruel disease :(

Oh absolutely, imo they need to acknowledge his death, respect and deal with ir and then have a successer. Michonne would be perfect, a strong black woman to take his lead a step forward. Black women need that more than anyone else imo

Spent pretty much my whole day watching his movies and speaking to some of my young cousins who haven’t took the news well.

No way they recast King T’Challa. They will pass the mantle to Shuri imo.

I actually think they should recast T'Challa, not to overwrite Chadwick's legacy but to pay it forward. He often said that he owed his career to the opportunities provided by Denzel Washington so to give another talented black actor the chance to play T'Challa and giving him the platform that Chadwick had would be a nice way to pay that kindness forward in Chadwick' name, if his family would be on board with it.

...Leon.....I’m glad that your younger cousins have you, you will be a huge inspiration to them as well...I watched Da 5 Bloods yesterday, because it was on Netflix, so I was able to...such an incredible, powerful movie...it’s not one to be said that I loved as such, because of the content...but just so poignant and meaningful and emotional in so many ways in how much it spanned and covered....in terms of Chadwick personally ...?...(I think..)..that it’s a movie that shows so much that it’s not the time spent on the screen, it’s the impact and presence and attention, how someone totally fills a screen, you know...and I guess that’s the same in life as well...he was here a very short time but what he gave people in inspiration was so much that it could never be measured in weeks or months or years etc...

...he married his love in the months before his passing as well..?..

It's so sad. He was so young.
