Depends on the consequences, and if they're proportionate. The actor from the Flash and James Gunn both lost work for tweets from like 10 years ago, JK faces a witch hunt for basically no reason.

Tell that to the families of thousands of kids who committed suicide because they were bullied on social media and told to kill themselves

If someone's going to take their own life, it's not going to be because of words on a screen, there'll be other issues going on in their lives.

We know this has already happened though.

Its because of bullying from the keyboard warriors.

Anyone who is caught telling someone to die or kill themselves before that person takes their own lives should face even manslaughter or assisted suicide charges

That is absolutely not true by the way. If a teenager is being bullied relentlessly you don't think that could be the catalyst for taking their own life? Why would it have to be something other than that?

No-one with a decent home life and balanced mind isn't going to take their own life due to people typing at them. Someone who takes their own life might have been cyber bullied, but it won't have been the sole cause.

You have no idea about any of that though, it's just a guess based on how you would feel about being cyber bullied.

I agree and don't in ways. People with engaged and present families who communicate well should (in most cases) be able to identify and address bullying issues early so that they don't escalate into anything too big. But when that doesn't happen, sustained/harassing/bullying comments (either verbal or online) absolutely can escalate to the point where an otherwise happy kid could end up suicidal.

Well yeah - someone who spends their life in front a screen is more likely to take "cyberbullying" seriously, and people with friends and attentive families are less likely to be in front of their screens all the time.

But on the flipside, if someone has mental issues, all the friends and family in the world won't soften certain blows.

True Hate speech will always fave consequences, which I agree with. As users have said consequences occur..

I disagree with hating people on opinions they are allowed to have, more and more people tend to be insulted because they don’t share the same opinions. Whether it be politics, views on social issues amongst others. Now having an opposing view you can be deemed as ‘vile’ and people threaten and blackmail you because you disagree... in that sense people take things too seriously and they need to chill out

No.
Too many idiots about.
