Sentencing, Mr Justice Jacobs said: “This is a case where I should sentence you on the basis you lost your self-control following the sending of the text message to your wife where the affair was revealed, rather than on the basis that you had no intention to kill or cause really serious harm.”
“I am sure that you did deliberately take Claire Parry by the neck applying significant force with your forearm or the crook of your elbow for a period of time while she struggled against you, thereby causing the severe neck injuries which the pathologist described. “The evidence from the pathologist was that those injuries which she described as ‘severe’ on a scale of mild, moderate or severe resulted from the application of significant force to the neck for a period of a minimum 10 to 30 seconds and possibly longer. “She said it was difficult to envisage a situation where a struggle in the car imparted the necessary degree of force or could explain the extent and severity of the neck injuries.” The judge said Brehmer would serve two-thirds of his sentence in prison before he could apply for parole. |

I assume he will do half that.

...he admitted to being a manipulative liar and knew how to play the justice system to ensure a minimum sentence...how devastating for her loved ones to feel this loss of justice as well...

The British judicial system is a farce, you get longer for robbing a bank than you do for murder, disgusting.

...so the original sentencing of 12yrs and 6 months, immediately reduced by two years simply because of a guilty plea...the judge was certain that he did intentionally take her life but it really is about knowing the system, isn’t it...and who better than a manipulative police officer...

People get 7 or 8 for burglary :skull:

There were 1,300 people detained with a TBS ruling in 2018: people stay in a treatment centre, sometimes after a jail term, and are treated for the psychological conditions that are thought to have played a role in their crime. Every two years, judges assess whether the treatment should be extended, and the average stay is two years. |
And they want people to have faith in the rule of law? How can they when they're not seeing justice done?
|
It's disgusting. You can't accidentally strangle someone to death, he attacked and strangled her. It's murder.

..is that meant to be based on the actual case or just a coincidence, thing...

...I was looking to see if there were any comments at the bottom but it doesn’t seem to be a comment thing, it’s on a few sites from what I can see...He’s also a very lucky man to know the justice system the way that he does to be able to manipulate to a minimum sentence...By his own admission, a lying manipulator...

...I honestly can’t imagine how her loved ones must feel...to live their lives with her being killed and now to live with such a shortfall of justice...just life destroying...
