Have you seen his international goal scoring record? He ranks number 1 on goal average at international level, he can't be left out.

GiRTh 16-12-2020 06:40 PM

75 goals in 68 internationals is incredible

Alf 16-12-2020 06:41 PM

26

Paolo Maldini

Italy

GiRTh 16-12-2020 06:42 PM

Should be higher. Please dont put John Terry above Maldini

Alf 16-12-2020 06:42 PM

Maldini is my all time footballing hero. I wanted to be Maldini.

GiRTh 16-12-2020 06:43 PM

In fact I would have no issues if you put 5 or 6 of that great Milan team on your list. I have always said they were the best team Ive seen play. Make room for Ruud Gullit and van Basten. Will Ancelotti make the list? He was quite a big member of that team too.

There is one more of that team to come, which with Rijkaard, Baresi and Maldini makes 4, which is a good return for one single team. Was a great team, would love to see that team take on the great Barcelona team.

Alf 16-12-2020 06:51 PM

25

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

West Germany

GiRTh 16-12-2020 06:52 PM

So either Gullit or Van Basten doesn't make it. After Brazilian Ronaldo, Van Basten is the best pure striker I've seen. Unreal finisher. He scored with his head, blasted 'em from 20 yard or dink over the keeper. He scored all types of goals Surely he's in. Gullit has to be in too as one of the most complete players in any position. So interesting to see who you've left out.

A relief for us all.

Yeah, I better tell Niamh at this point, that no Irish player made the top 40. I did consider Paul Mcgrath and Roy Keane, but it wasn't to be.

Ramsay 16-12-2020 07:00 PM

No Roy Keane? Jokes aside now I know you're trippin

GiRTh 16-12-2020 07:01 PM

I fully support the no Roy Keane decision,.

Ramsay 16-12-2020 07:03 PM

You're all sick!

Alf 16-12-2020 07:05 PM

23

Elias Figueroa
