Gay people are not a political issue, if you don't like it, look away.

bots 23-01-2021 03:12 AM

so if the C4 logo is political, what political message does it convey to you Arista?

GoldHeart 23-01-2021 04:47 AM

Just change your TV contrast to black and white then lol , but on a serious note this was the original logo for C4 i don't understand the uproar over the colours .

arista 23-01-2021 06:01 AM

Again Ch4HDnews
is outstanding
they even joined(Partnered) with SkyNewsHD
in the 2010 Election debates.

It is wrong while doing the news
to have Political Colours on the number 4

joeysteele 23-01-2021 08:30 AM

Surely even if it was a political statement being made in the logo, which I dismiss totally myself, just my view.
So what.

As for the criticism of the programme It's A Sin on C4 last night.
Well that's dealing with a very serious issue of that period.
I think it was presented, acted and informed in a really strong way all the aspects of the period in both a humerous and serious way.

I can't see why the logo and this seemingly strong and good new series, can be seen as making a political statement and especially wrongly too.

How REALLY is it a political statement however by using all the colours of, what are main colours anyway, which political Parties have.
At least all together in one place indicates impartiality completely with no colour more evident than any other.

Just my view but there it is.

I thought it was cos the colours are the same as the main UK parties

Arista can you clarify if you’re a homophobe or just a bit nuts

Cherie 23-01-2021 11:06 AM

I think you have forgotten this is how it used to look Arista, I doubt it's political

I actually think the reason for using the old logo, if (as I gather - I don't actually know about the show in question) it's for this show "It's A Sin" which I've read is set against the AIDS crisis, is probably all three;

- The logo from the 80's

- Party political colours

- Pride flag

...I just don't think any of those things are a problem at all. It's just some clever advertising for a show?

arista 23-01-2021 11:18 AM

Yes Political Colors
thank you
Wise TS.

OK but the secondary question is... what's the problem with that, and why is it making you angry?

arista 23-01-2021 11:18 AM

Cherie
in 2020
it is used as Political Colors

Because
Ch4HDnews is Impartial
thats how they managed to merge with SkyNewsHD
in 2010 UK Elections.

I backed all that.

I read this as well, and it sounds the most convincing of all the arguments

I backed all that.

How is this politically impartial? Unless you believe that the pride flag aspect is politically partisan?

And anyway... have they even made any sort of statement about it, other than it just ... being there? Because I think it's just promo for a show and ... it's a commercial channel, so they're going to do promo in their branding. It's literally no different to Ch5 doing that thing where they "briefly flashed the Big Brother eye" on screen between ads during the run up to BB seasons. The logo is superimposed by the channel before broadcast, it's not a news anchor holding up a piece of paper.

arista 23-01-2021 11:50 AM

Those Colors on the number 4 were used in Political Fashion

Today they are Not there at all.

They were used to promote a show that has sociopolitical elements but I fail to see how they're any sort of political banner in and of themself. I can only ASSUME that you're falling into the false narrative that the pride flag and left-wing politics are in some way intrinsically linked, when they are not.

Looks like it was put together by using children's building block pieces.

Would made a good C4 Kids Channel logo, if they had a kids channel.

No Not at all
As a News Programme
they need to stay away from any Political Color.

MP's get angry at this
as well as me.
