personally loved deal or no deal when it was on here

First you choose your box Cherie. They are numbered 1 to 22. Then you choose 5 boxes one at a time and Ammi will reveal the contents. Then the banker Slim will make you an offer. You either deal or no deal. If you deal you win that amount but you still carry on playing so we can see if you made a good deal or not. If you no deal you carry on playing as well and open another 3 boxes after which Slim makes you another offer and so on.

So will you end up in the 1p club or win 250 thousand Tibb Pounds? We shall see. :devil:

I don't think Slim understood that me playing to the end could have been a bluff and he needed to couch his offers in terms of the big money that was still in play? :laugh:

...we’ll know between two possible amounts but not the actual box chosen, as Slim said, it’s to try to make more calculated choices with offers ...rather than no every time because atm, there are no ‘stakes’....I understand that yesterday was quite the ordeal for you in how long it was and how it had a few things that could have been polished a bit and those are things we’re still discussing as the the best format...making it much shorter seems an essential atm with people’s time and commitments...

Outline.

Player chooses their box.

Player opens 5 boxes one at a time.

Banker makes an offer based on boxes eliminated and amounts remaining.

Player decides whether to deal or no deal.

The game continues.

Player opens another 3 boxes.

Banker makes an offer.

Etc. Until there are only 2 boxes left. Then the banker makes a final offer and possibly the swap if he wants to.

The player will win as soon as they say Deal or the game ends with the opening of the final box.

So the boxes opened will be the same as they were yesterday (in line with the show). However, it will now be up to you to monitor your previous guesses and asking for the same box twice will now result in a 1k deduction, so I would guess something like:


Boxes chosen: 1,2,3,4,5,6.

Boxes to open: 7,8,9.

Just this alone will speed up the game massively, meaning every time the boxes are opened, Ammi doesn't have to search back through the thread, and can just deal with this.

Doing it like this will put it up to the contestants to decide how quickly (or slowly) the game takes.

As the massive banker, I also won't know what the amounts are - only Kate and Ammi will have this info, so any offers I make aren't done with any prior knowledge.

It didn't really matter whether or not you played to the end yesterday because it didn't mean anything. I wasn't trying to make you an offer, I was trying to force you to end up with as little as possible, so I played the odds and lost. Whether you ended up with 1p or 250k was irrelevant. It's trying to turn it into more of a game for the contestants, not me (or whomever the banker is/was).

Just to echo this - if you don't want to do it like this, that's fine also. Have your one round and call it a day. No problems at all.

I thought Kate would be keeping a tally of what was opened tbf :shrug: We didnt know what we were supposed to be doing I doubt that will happen again
