[School where teacher showed pupils cartoons of Prophet Mohammed is forced to SHUT and he is put under police protection as dozens of protesters picket gates for second day despite Gavin Williamson's ringing condemnation of them] https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...econd-day.html https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2021/03...6747555901.jpg [The protesters, all Muslim men, are angry that the RE teacher allegedly showed cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed to students.] |

I agree...however there is no freedom of speech anymore because people get offended by the slightest thing and twist it into something it isn’t. Considering it was a highly populated Muslim school I think it was a stupid and disrespectful thing to do by a teacher...especially what happened to the teacher in France. Then again we shouldn’t have to yield to Terrorists and murderers. Sadly it’s the world we now live in. |

Do we know in what context the picture was shown? Given he was teaching RE its likely he was making a point about religion being mocked, I seriously doubt he was trying to offend, any more than if they showed the Life of Brian

I dont suppose he took it in the class and said "Hey everyone take a look at this...." However Cherie...whatever context it was in it was a risque thing to do although I am a great believer in Freedom of Speech. |
[QUOTE=Oliver_W;11024234]No religion deserves respect tbh :shrug:/QUOTE]
Well I am not a religious person...but I think we should respect people that have one. Having said that...religious people should also respect those that dont have a religion. It should work both ways. This demonstration could just escalate...the point has been made...the Teacher is being dealt with... |
The Protestors Demand that Teacher is Sacked.

Whatever the grievance is here, this is not a normal way to carry on over an school incident take it up via the professional channels that are available to parents if they have an issue with a teacher

These people could be looking for an opportunity to slice that mans head off, yet we see more police hounding someone for filming in public.

An Iman on the news tonight said the protest has been hijacked, tend to agree with him as it appeared to be mainly young men in their teens and early 20s, that said if they went through the proper channels to express their grievance in the first place like every other parent does, there would be nothing to hijack

Sorry, but why the hell would you do this? In a school?
