...very, very tragic and very, very difficult for his family and loved ones to accept because it’s a loss that should never have happened...and ironically so close to the courthouse while Derek Chauvin’s trial is ongoing...the weight, the feel etc of a taser would be completely different to that of a loaded weapon so that type of panic and misjudgement would surely lead to her job in the police force not being possible to continue but that man’s life can never be given back so the heightened emotions are not easily going to diminish...

the fundamental problem is that they have a choice of weapon to deploy. I can understand how it could have been a mistake in the heat of the moment, but they shouldn't be in a position where that mistake is a possibility because human error does happen

...mental health is so important to focus on anyway but in an institution such as the police force, it really has to be such a priority because one human error can equal a human life and many, many shattered worlds...

Ammi 13-04-2021 06:45 AM

...with a veteran service as she had, why....the difference in weight/feel/size etc of the weapons would have been instantly familiar with...why the panic is what needs to be looked at so closely...

It was a life and death situation for the officers, caused by the scumbag.

She had 25 years experience she should know what side her tazer is on without looking, they all wear it on the same side as protocol

Just thinking of this, in order to shoot the good she would have to have removed the safety something that a taser doesn't have so how can she say she didn't know?

Yes it happened fast
She was in a panic.

All he did was sat back down.

He had no weapon.

Releasing the Police body cam video fast
was wise.
But the police chief is no longer
in charge of Kim Potter

maybe if you were in a life-threatening situation you would understand?

as she was

id imagine the opposite has happened and the officer has been shot dead going for a tazer and not the gun

There was no life threatening situation, he had no weapon on him and he was cooperating with an officer until she mand handled him then as soon as he sat in the car she shot him.

It was cold blooded murder and she shouted taser to avoid being punished.

A taser would be on the opposite side to her gun, ie a different colour and a lot lighter and does need the safety taking off and the amount of time she shouted taser she had plenty of time to realise it was a gun.

She is a murderer and should face the death penalty

Police in the US get about 2/3 months training every other country has a minimum of 3 years and they wonder why their officers a trigger happy? The police need massively defunding and they need to ban police associations

Crimson Dynamo 13-04-2021 08:58 AM

He had a warrant out for fleeing officers and waving or unregistered gun around in June..

Crimson Dynamo 13-04-2021 08:59 AM

They sent the warrant to an address he had never even visited do at that point the warrant became defunct and couldn't be used
