It was more odd this year.:joker: Which makes no difference though as whether on the public vote or judging panel vote, the UK got NO votes from either source. Maybe we should become a non participant. HOWEVER stage the contest in the UK every year. Capitalise on the tourism from that. With perhaps a decider voting rights in respect of any unlikely tie as a result. How the UK voted decides the winner. Then just have our singers/ groups entertaining during the presentation of the contest. |

…that’s the last time we give Remy our 12 points, not one little vote did he manage to get us… |
One thing you have to bear in mind about the huge Italy public points boost is that they were fav to win.
Fav to win = lots of bets on them to win = lots of people with a financial stake in them winning voting like crazy. It's a standard betting phenomenon with "bets on public vote" type things, because it's the very unusual scenario where those who have placed the bets can actually influence the outcome. tl;dr being bookie's favourite to win in a voting event in turn makes you more likely to win, and I think the large surge of votes for Italy somewhat reflects that. As for the tweet: a bit ill-judged, most people who want Scottish independence don't "hate" the UK at all and a post-Indy Scotland and England will need to have a solid and amiable relationship for various reasons. We're not enemies :umm2:. However, the UK's act: Awful. Yes, genuinely the worst of the night. Germany was "bad" but at least in that "lol omg this is so bad" way which is mildly entertaining. The UK wasn't entertainingly bad... it was just bland. Completely and utterly forgettable, literally no redeeming features. Zero performance, zero staging, bizarre ... costume? ...? Lacklustre song and mediocre vocals. It is semi-political but come on. It deserved zero and got zero. |
i'm convinced thats why helen wood won bb, it was because of all the bets that people had taken out at fantastic odds
|
Are we surprised at the party who relies on hate for votes
|
The song wasn't bad, it was just bland and forgettable. There were worse songs, no doubt, but they were probably more memorable and likely had people voting for them for the fun of it.
It's better to be bad than bland in a competition like that. |

100% correct. Amazing that all gets overlooked and accepted by a good number of voters, particularly in England. |
That's nowhere near 100 percent correct Joey..its an assumption, nothing more, nothing less.

What has been done humiliatingly by the government, Coalition and Con to the sick and disabled since 2010, is shameful, heartless and cruel. You dare accuse the SNP of hate, when they wouldn't dream of being cruel to the sick and disabled. I won't even start on this government's attitude to immigration. Even as to those who've been here for decades. No, I'll hold my agreement with Dezzy's facts, thank you very much. |
I hope when Scotland go independent eventually they win the whole contest

Well the only country ive seen deporting people on my tv lately is Scotland. With those 2 in glasgow that gathered a huge crowd trying to stop it.. She still went ahead and deported them. Was that born of hate, from her and her party? |

She spoke about this today and mentioned the 2 illegals in Glashgow |

The big 5 are Germany, Spain, Italy, France and the U.K. because we all contribute the most towards the hosting and production, you would think that with us paying all that money to be a part of it, we’d actually take it as seriously as some of the other countries

he deserves nothing for turning up in a coat that Ray Winston would wear in a low budget gangster b-movie
