Absolutely and this is why people guilty of crimes like his should never ever be considered for rehabilitation, it just isn't worth what the risk of that is

Move on a few decades and policies and thinking have changed. Nothing stays the same of course, we have to move forward, but someone who brutally rapes and then murders 2 teenage girls deserves to rot in prison. I just don't think rehabilitation was ever the intended strategy for him

Yes

[In 2009, his 30-year life tariff was reduced
by two years for "exceptional progress" - a decision
that was strongly criticised by the families of his victims]

and the poor families suffer all over again

If he had been shot in the head and incinerated in the first place...

…when I read this originally and that he’d been having these unescorted days anyway….I thought of that case in the unsolved mysteries, Lester Eubanks…?…where he escaped from a shopping mall on his day out and was never found again…..he raped and killed the young girl, Mary Ellen….

Oh yeah, awful. What are they actually thinking?

Sentences need to run consecutively and not concurrently... or judges need to have the option of a whole life sentence. This man, and I use the term in its loosest possible sense, should die in prison.

At least people can see what he looks like, now.

Even Government intervention could not prevent his release, I hope the parole panel can sleep easy in their beds, another incidence where the victims families matter not a jot

Pity they can’t hold the parole board responsible for any future crimes these people commit ...

Agreed.

Very True

If his victims' families want to start a go-fund-me page to have him killed, I'd be more than willing to chuck in a few bob.

Double child killer Colin Pitchfork arrested and recalled to prison, two months after being released ..... must have done something already

How he was even let out in the first place is beyond me and if he's hurt someone else that's on whoever decided to let him out

It's good to hear that he is behind bars.

bots 22-11-2021 04:59 AM

the parole board who insisted on releasing him should be sacked immediately

yes, it was only because he was being so closely watched that no harm came to anyone

Toy Soldier 22-11-2021 09:01 AM

They're lucky he had only "approached" people, this could easily have ended up with someone else being attacked or killed. At the very least it show it's a compulsion he has not a decision he's making - which means he can never be considered safe to be on the streets unsupervised.

Peter Hitchens on Talk Radio saying he's not in favour of the death penalty but it's hard to argue against it in these cases.
